DM I like reading your posts, but you make my eyes bleed :(, is there any way you could just post a 1/2 sentence post once in a while, rather then these constant essays which just repeat the same thing over and over again.:p

But but how much has he paid you :p Some of his posts are good but when its this time in morning i don't fancy reading an essay i like quick updates on transfers :p

Wilshire is actually good enough to play in the Cesc role, he's not as good, but he's got a similar set of skills and the level of vision required. The money would be better spent on a real DM and real wingers, and, 3/4 of a new back four.

As for if a manager would come in and instantly turn things around, I think the vast majority would. Firstly even guys like Redknapp could see building a team around Kind or Woodgate was stupid so he went and got first team guys and used them if fit when required. Gallas is better than anyone else there in defence. Arsenal have known about our sicknotes, all of them for the best part of 4 years and yet here we are, 4 years later relying on them MORE than we used to.

Redknapp can work that out, 90% of managers can work that out, Wenger can't. Likewise, Theo on the wing, no, Gervinho on the wing, no, Song as a DM, no.

I think 90% of the managers in this league let alone others would have seen our situation and bought who WE wanted early, rather than who is left in a couple of weeks from now which seems to be where we are going.

I've said it before, I have zero trust in Wenger bringing in the right people. If we don't bring in minimum of 2-3 top players I can see a very poor(by Arsenal standards and 100mil a year in wages) season coming our way.

I've almost lost the will to care, Wenger will continue to get rid of anyone worth keeping and I can really see both RVP and Wilshire wanting out come next season. Wilshire already looks like the quality of player a title winning side could use a decent amount now and rely on in the future to win more titles. Arsenal need to stop the rot, and that starts and finishes with Wenger at the moment.

This was all plainly obvious when Wenger angered our best wingers, both Reyes and Pires who was just epic for us at that time, have stated one of the major reasons for leaving was being angry over the champs league final. Henry, Reyes, Pires, the whole team (and a select few fans) saw Hleb for what he was, utterly crap. Reyes was very angry at simply being dropped and Pires had been angry and refused to talk to him for years after being subbed off instead of Hleb in the final.

Not to mention taking off Cesc in that game, who was instrumental to us already at that stage, 1-0 up, Cesc goes off, and we collapsed. Ok its not quite that bad but Wenger then till now hasn't learnt that when you're holding a lead taking off your best performer is basically football suicide. He utterly lost it that season, the 49 game unbeaten run, and the champs league final, he's not been the same manager since and he's slowly ripped the squad to pieces.

That 2005-2006 team could have won(with the same tactics) and Pires staying, the title several times since. But we lost our best players, changed tactics, got bad replacements and have gone down hill.

fantastic post. well said

Redknapp said post-Hearts that Adebayor will "probably happen".

He seriously needs to get this Modric situation sorted out by Monday. If we can get the two players been offered plus another from the cash of sale then we are 3 players better off. it has to be a positive move. Given the amount of injuries that we seem to sustain (for some reason) I think that would be a better move.

plus a number decent goalkeeper would be nice. Gomez was only involved for ten minutes last night and he certainly didn't look comfortable. I'm still puzzled at the signing of Friedel who is surely at the end of his carer let alone starting a fresh one at Spurs.

I'm very concerned about the injuries though.. Something's not right there.

Yes we need Modric deal done and dusted over the weekend. If we can get some real quality in then we could strengthen the whole team. I would like to see Sturridge involved in any part of a deal.
With Modric’s future once again looking uncertain, Opta have taken a detailed look at the midfielder’s performances in the white shirt of Tottenham, with the aim of finding out just how important Modric has been for the north Londoners and whether or not they could cope without him.

Since moving to White Hart Lane ahead of the 2008/09 season, Modric has made a total of 91 appearances in the league for Spurs. However, despite his undoubted talent and ability to create from the centre of the pitch, Tottenham have actually performed better without him, registering a 52% win percentage when he hasn’t featured compared to a 43% figure when the star has appeared.

Spurs’ points-per-game average also rises in the absence of the schemer (1.74 per game without Modric compared to 1.57 with the player) while even the north Londoners’ potency in front of goal improved without the Croat. When he has featured, Spurs have netted an average of 1.40 goals per game compared to the superior figure of 1.74 when he hasn’t appeared at all.
We currently have the luxury of midfield being the strongest part of our squad. We desperately need to upgrade our strikeforce.

Not sure if its been said already but Falcao to Athletico Madrid for 40m

What in the name of **** happening to our club, I want to post a smily as I can't sum up in words how utterly unbelievable things have now got, but there is no smily either.

Our team vs Liverpool is just completely embarrassing and imagine when RvP, Walcott, Gibbs are injured .. we are going to see some ROPEY teams this season and probably get smashed 4 - 0 by a few mid table teams. It literally goes beyond imagination what is happening at Arsenal

Does appear everyone is for sale at the moment. Why was Vela allowed to leave? He could finallly get a good run in the team now we, well, have no team.

Screw Vela, he can go, I don't care that any of them have gone (bar Cesc), more can go for all I care. It's the fact we're shipping out about 6+ first teamers (or players that were v close to the first team due to injury problems), and we've brought in 1 (Gervinho) to replace the 6+, I am just completely confused and weirded out.

I don't even really want to get further into it as it makes me angry, we should use summers to improve but instead we just plug holes we've created by selling/complete negligence, this summer it seems that we've gone one step further and just forsaken buying players altogether for some reason. I don't think that the club understand that success in football is in fact linked with spending money. Especially when the club supposedly has daft amounts to spend (we've been promised we have big money for about 3 summers now, it must be an enormous amount by now)

I usually go into a season thinking - 2 more good players and we'd challenge/at least win a cup, I'm currently in the position where I genuinely think we'd need to buy 6 good, established, proven players to compete this season. 6 players, 10 days, at Arsenal. We'll be lucky to get 1 and get a Europa league place.

Vela does show promise though. And too be honest we will need everyone we can get.

Our problem in the past has always been that we had an excellent starting eleven but our bench was just ok.

This season we are struggling to get a decent starting eleven together.

£80m plus in the bank from sales. If he can't find 3 or 4 better players than we have at the moment then we are really in trouble. We have been linked with, Meta, Hazard, Cahill, Jag, Samba etc. All equal or better than what we have.

Dein is calling for support but what he must remember is that we have been supporting his decisions for the past 6 years without results and the fans and pundits seem to see what is wrong at the club but Wenger doesn't seem to plug the hole. Only problem now is that the hole is too big to plug.

Vela is ok, but we don't need promise, we all know (and have for 3+ years) we have plenty of promise, we were guaranteed experience and proven quality this window, as well as premier league defenders, the club said this as it was obvious, not even they could duck it any more, yet it still hasn't happened.

You could make an enormous list of players that could improve both our first XI and squad, there isn't a problem with lack of quality on the market, there's loads there.

As for support, I've been right behind Wenger forever, never had a bad word to say, always given Wenger/Arsenal the benefit of the doubt, appreciated the club and what we were trying to do. But we're now shooting ourselves in the foot with a bazooka, I can't stand for such obvious incompetence. I don't need to win the league to be happy, being sensible in the market and an improvement on last season is enough to keep me happy, what has happened this summer is a farce and it's tipped me well over the edge, and imo, I'm incredibly patient
