Ati 6950

Don't you know?

Toxic version, a bit pricey but toxic coolers are very, very quiet and cool!

'Sapphire have already pre-programmed the bios for ‘unlocked shaders’, although there is a possibility it may not work on some cards from the production line. We can consider this an ‘extra’, rather than a selling point as this feature may not work on all cards.'

Not a guarantee but you take your chances.

Expensive they are...

They are indeed, but if I was in the shops for a 6950, then that would be the one for me without a doubt! Had a 4870 1Gb toxic back in the day and the cooler was second to none!

If Sapphire are keeping up the good work then I imagine there will be excellent overclocking headroom while not sounding like the missus doing her hair!

It's the only cooler I've ever had that I've never ripped off in disgust(I don't care what anyone says, all high end stock coolers are for the bin) without having to go for custom cooling.

The quietest cooler I've used in case your wondering(:pprobably not) is on my 6950>70's:

To be honest you can get better then 6970 performance form increasing the clocks alone so rather then waste time trying to find a place that still sells 6950's that have unlockable shaders concentrate on finding out which cards overclock the best.
