This. Also, Syria is much more densely populated than Libya. As such there would be a significant increase in the risk of collateral damage.

People will argue back and forth about the true intentions of NATO in this fight. For years most likely. I don't think that should overshadow the despicable brutality of the regime which is in the process of being brought to its knees.

Syria doesn't have as much oil as Lybia. Give it a few years, let oil become more scarce and you might see UK forces in Syrai too.

It makes no sense to put our troops lives in danger for no good reason.

Why do we need to segregate the world? Why does where in the world conflicts break out determine if we should/shouldn't be involved? When human lives are endangered to the force of an evil, people who can stop it should, no matter where they are. Our world is ever more local and our ehtics should follow in my view.
