****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Does anyone know if this phone can be used to control a PS3 over BlueTooth, say for Media Playback? I can't find any apps, but just thought it may be possible as both devices are Bluetooth, assuming they use similar BT profiles.

Hmmm getting some problems with my phone now :(

Over the last couple of weeks it has been randomly rebooting (keep hearing the t-mobile jingle in my pocket!) but I can't trace the source of the problem. On a few occasions it keeps turning itself off.

On Saturday morning it wouldn't stay powered on after disconnecting from the charger and when I did finally get it to work it sucked up 20% battery in 15 mins of light use (words with friends, twitter)

Anyone else suffered similar symptoms?

Soooo, managed to drop my phone today ¬_¬ The case pinged off and the phone slid across the kitchen floor liner.

The chrome bezel has some scuffs on it now as does the earpiece black grille. Also some scuffs on the back.

Excuse me while I go sacrifice a small child for this end of the world event!

Dropped mine today, now has 2 nicks on the chrome bezel, after owning it 3 days:p

meh, i still think cases are gay:p This will not affect how much mazuma give me in 12 months for it.

I seem to have a mysterious battery drain problem:

Running the latest official O2 released firmware.

Phone has been pretty much untouched since Saturday evening but yet the battery took two massive hits without me doing anything on the phone.

Anyone looking for another amazing keyboard alternative check out HTC IME MOD that I found on XDA:

Code:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25106916/SGS2/Keyboard_HTC_update.zip
(It's a flashable zip that you install from recovery or CWM Manager so don't unzip it, place on your SD card and flash it.)

It has a lot of the features of Thumb keyboard and Cyanogen' Gingerbread mod keyboard (popup delay, keyboard dimensions etc) but goes one step further by adding gesture features among many other stuff.

I find the stock dimensions to be excellent, the keys are perfectly sized on the S2 whereas even once tweaked, Thumb Keyboard Keys are a bit slimmer.

Also I'm running Lite'ning ROM 6.1 now. Just installed over modaco and everything works. I had to clear Gmail data as it FCdas the included version was out of date then updated it via the Market as well as Youtube and Maps.

All going nice and smooth. Battery life is said to be really good on this so going to monitor as this may well be my permanent ROM if so.

mrk, when changing between roms do you not have to wipe data and cache?

This is what I have been doing everytime and re setting everything up.

I've been using that keyboard since I got my HTC Desire :p I would highly recommend it over any of the other keyboards.

Lite'ning 6.1 is brilliant too... I love the blue theme and yesterday I unplugged it at 10:30, sent around 30 texts, browsed the internet for 10 minutes, made 5 minutes worth of calls, all whilst having push on and screen set to 50% brightness... by 23:30 I was down to 66% battery :D

Lite'ning 6.1 also have BLN support so now my button lights flash when I have a notification :D

Its usually best to do so when swapping ROMs, although not always necessary. I've found I generally get best battery life and less bugs from wipe then install.

I didn't wipe cache this time round and all worked fine really. The only think I did clear was dalvik via Titanium Backup and ran battery calibration after charging to 100%.

Any help guys?

Took it off charge this morning at about 7:45am and in that time the battery is down to 90% with only a few texts sent.

Personally I think it just needs calibrating properly. It's also tricky to say what it should be doing as you don't appear to be using it. 29 hours life is pretty damn good if this is your daily use of the phone.

I think that looks like the Android 2.3.3 bug where the Android OS eats up the battery (which apparently is fixed in 2.3.4... but debatable).

Try another ROM!
