21 : PM David Cameron's age when he joined the Bullingdon Club, devoted to excessive drinking and violent disorder, of which he says "Like many people, I did things when I was young that I should not have done, and that I regret.".

19 : London mayor Boris Johnson's age when he joined the Bullingdon Club and was arrested, which he has described as "Deeply pathetic . . . a matter for shame."

16 : Deputy PM Nick Clegg's age when he behaved "Appallingly, irresponsibly, criminally" in an arson incident in Germany.
What fine examples these Tory Toffs are to the youth of today ;)

You've mentioned the blemished past of those people before and quite recently too. Is there any point reiterating it?

I think the point stockhausen is trying to make is that all three of the above were not convicted of a crime and sent to prison, and subsequently went on to make a success of their lives. This opportunity is denied those convicted of a crime in the recent student/looting riots.

I think you could find inappropriate/bad behaviour in the past of most people who are in positions of power and/or responsibility. Same probably applies for most people on this forum!

Everyone does stupid things when they're young, it's not really anything that surprising and I don't really see any reason to be concerned by it.

I imagine if they'd been caught looting when they were younger in a riot similar to what we had recently they'd probably have got the same or worse prison sentences.

Lots of people get let off with cautions for what can be described a 'mild' public disorder/drunken behaviour.

. . . or sent to jail for your youthful high-jinks. . . as so enthusiastically advocated by these upstanding hypocrites

Thanks, but I'd rather have people with a bit of colour to their past than rigid, squeaky-clean stiffs with a pristine sheet.

Also, yes - they make a fine example to today's youth. PM, deputy PM, Mayor of London - pretty high aspirations when coming from pasts with a little civil disobedience to mar them.

You should really stop making politically-themed posts. You seem to do little more than make yourself look simple, bitter and pathetic. Maybe it'd be best for the political groups you support if you stopped openly supporting them.

Clegg is a Liberal so I guess by setting fire to something he was exploring the liberalism of being able to do WTF you like ?

I don't think you could class 3 days of rioting costing millions of pounds to repair, lost homes and businesses and a few murders as 'youthful high-jinks'. I know you don't like the current government, but you must see the difference between those events and a few isolated incidents which infact truly could be described as 'youthful high-jinks', yeah?

Out of interest, why are you so against the lib-dems? I thought you went round peoples houses trying to get them to vote for them and stuff? You're not one of those student types who are angry at them for 'not fulfilling election promises', despite the fact that they didn't actually win the election and couldn't possibly do everything they said they would?

Does anyone else notice how lolc*ckfacehausen makes these threads, but hardly ever actually responds to them? It's almost like he's just a troll....
