HP touchpad firesale

I wouldn't say that, HP have said this isn't the last we'll see of webos. And tbh, get andriod on it and you have a £450 for £90 WIN WIN :)

The reviews say it is under-powered fro running WebOS. I'm wondering if the Android experience will be any better? Probably worse...

Personally, I'll pass.

Are the people buying these only getting them because they're £90 and you'd be a sucker not to or beacuse they wanted a tablet anyway and suddenly there's these ones dirt cheap?

My mate was after one when they were still £350+ so he's gutted to have missed out on the "firesale".

Tell him not to worry, Will soon be loads on the bay for close to £100 and in the MM also I'd imagine.

What reviews have you been looking at? It's a 1.2GHz dual core with 1GB RAM. You can't get any more 'high-powered'.

I don't have the sources to hand but I do believe that HP engines also complained that the performance was less than stellar.

The 'speeds and feeds' you posted are just numbers. If WebOS wasn't optimised for the TouchPad (cast you mind back to how slow the first Pre was) or there is some other bottleneck due to a poor choice of hardware it can still be slow despite a strong CPU.

Look at the video demonstrations, does not look slow to my eyes.
