Samsung smartphones now banned in the EU

You seem to have missed the point - it's cool to hate Apple. :p

Don't like Apple? Then don't buy their products, pushing your hatred onto other people just makes you look silly.

Got a bit of a fly in your bonnet about this haven't you.

Don't Samsung produce a lot of the components for Apple's products e.g. screens and the like?

Yes, I know that Samsung are not daft enough to reduce their profits by stopping the production to Apple but then Apple seem hell bent in doing that anyway by stopping Samsung from selling products itself

I think TSMC are sampling the next generation of ARM cpus for Apple. Once the yield is high enough then Apple could cut ties with Samsung in this area, I'm not sure when and if this will happen.

Flash storage yes. Screens I don't know. I know that Samsung do manufacture screens. But I don't know if they supply Apple. The pool of ODMs to pull screens from though is pretty low. There's AU optronics, Samsung, LG/Philips are the big ones I can remember off the top of my head. I know that Samsung are suing AU optronic over screen patents though.

I think Apple mostly use LG, for their mobile stuff anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't they been banned only in the Netherlands? The scope here isn't really that wide - it affects NL and any Dutch subsidiaries in the EU (mostly in France, Germany, Spain, Belgium, etc.).

So unless you had planned on securing a Galaxy S II from a Dutch-owned company, you should be fine!

Well if you look at what phones Samsung were making when Apple made the iphone 2G, they have a point.

Like many technology firms, Samsung uses the Netherlands to import most of its goods into the European Union.

The interim injunction prohibits sale of devices by three of the company's Dutch subsidiaries to the UK, France, Germany, Finland, Ireland, Lichtenstein, Luxemburg, Monaco, Sweden and Switzerland.

While it's clear these companies do like to sue eachother, it's not hard to miss the fact that Apple are doing it a lot more than others, and also falsifying evidence too. It's not surprising that people dislike Apple when they're doing things like this, so often. I also think you use "hate" too much, I doubt most of the people you think hate Apple actually do hate them, but rather dislike them because of the way they go on, which is fair enough really.

I'm surprised you've not claimed it's about jealousy yet as well. :p

All we need is Intel to cut off their cpu supply :D

and also falsifying evidence too.

This ****ed me off. Apparantly some of the images that Apple used in their lawsuits against Samsung were photoshopped to make them look more similar, but the articles about this were in German so I only saw the pictures which could have been made by anybody.

This is just ammo for the people that hate Apple anyway, I doubt most people even know about it.

It does seem to be hate, not just "I don't buy it because I prefer X", it's "I don't buy it because Apple are evil, Steve Jobs parked in a disabled space once... blah blah blah".

Not everyone is like that though, of course. That goes both ways though, not all Apple users are stupid drones, but some people believe that.

It clearly is. Can't afford a Mac/iPhone? Clearly that means it's rubbish, right? ;)

(Extra winks, just in case it flies over anyone's head - ;) ;) ;))

One of them was to make the Samsung 10.1 look as though it's 4:3 like the iPad, that should get thrown out of court on that alone.

Indeed, the sole reason it wasn't means there is a huge issue with the legal system (and Apple of course shouldn't have done it in the first place, they're just exploiting loopholes).

I was just talking about examples I've seen you make where you claim it's hate, when it's more criticism or dislike. Hate is quite a strong word after all.

Of course, you definitely come across as an Apple-hater-hater. :P Not all Apple users are stupid drones, no, but for some reason the Apple brand certainly seems to attract a fair amount of people who fit that description, and if I hadn't have experienced it myself, as well as a few friends experiencing it too, I would be inclined to think it was an exaggeration.

I wouldn't expect a judge to really know that the images were falsified unless he was made aware of them. I know it's massively generalising, but a lot of top judges seem somewhat out of touch with modern technology and probably barely know what is being spoken about.

Apple should definitely not have done it, but they're taking advantage of the fact that they expected no one to notice, rather than a legal loophole, I couldn't think of any sort of loophole that would allow fabrication of evidence.

I don't get how Apple thought no one would ever notice. I did read that the it was the type of hearing where only Apple were present, so Samsung weren't there to defend themselves and point out the fact that it was a manipulated image.

It doesn't really have anything to do with Apple, I just dislike irrationality, of which (in this case) there is plenty. Especially when it comes to phones, etc!
