Steve Jobs resigns as CEO of Apple

It's either one of two things

1) The begining of the end for Apple

2) Doesn't make one jot of difference as he didn't have a say in the products developed for a while now

Bit of a shame -There's just something likeable about Steve Jobs.

Doubt it will make any difference at all though apart from shares falling for a couple of days!

Is he not ill? He's still chairman isn't he too?

I enjoyed a talk he did with Bill Gates a while back, amazing listening to them both talk about the future of software and it was obvious they got on very well and had massive respect for each other.

People forget that MS and Apple have invested heavily in each other.

I can't believe on a computer forum that someone would actually say is he not ill ?

Yes he's very very ill. This is probably a sign of him being on his death bed. The last footage we saw of him, he was barely able to stand.

Apple shares will take a nose dive. He is Apple. The company was on the brink of bankruptcy until he came back on board as the interim CEO (iCEO) as he called himself, spawing the i on just about everything released after his rejoining.

Anyway, if there's one CEO ever in the world that makes his company, it's him. Apple will probably not be the same because of this.

He may be a **** sometimes but he has brought something to the tech table that will last.

did he? or did he just take what was already their and brainwash people into buying anything made by apple even if they were inferior products like often they were

A sad day. It obviously means he's very ill indeed. He's one of the last 'old guard' in an industry I've loved over 30 years since I was about 12.

What do you mean?

Essentially you can bet on the price of shares falling (that's a very simplistic way of putting it, but hopefully explains it).
