Second hand Sapphire 5970 (sold as seen and untested).

Am I the only one who thinks it is a bit hectic that she is selling her ex boyfriends stuff? Shouldn't she contact him before selling it as a 5970 is worth a lot of money. I don't even think legally she can sell his possession.
You do have a point...scam or no scam, it would pretty much make her someone who's selling a theft item on the bay?

lol classic ebay scam. This is why I never use ebay. The seller is a scam artist end topic. Just report them and send any email replies to ebay.

Having re-read this thread and at the risk of getting slaughtered.....

I say the OP is the one selling it.

New forum user, was told it was a good card and that he could run it, and that it was a bargain even if borked yet started talking about getting another card (for considerably more pennies) straight after linking to the bay. BEFORE IT WAS NOTED AS A SCAM.

Just a thought....

Doesnt even appear to be a link on here for the listing (although about 10 posts in people are talking about the listing, so its been removed by someone i guess?)

Even if you bought it for £100, your entitled to return it under DSA. So 'she' is wasting her time. Considering the abuse she's getting (as she sees it) you'd think she'd realise well maybe this isnt what im advertising, and whether or not its listed in honesty, its not what she's advertising it as, but a worthless plastic shell of it.

tbh, the thread sounded off from the first few posts, skipping that 'know someone' = found ebay listing, and that 'sold as seen' = item thats broke and someone is selling on ebay knowing its dead/worthless.

Theres your link :p

As for the auction, I'm absolutely dumbfounded. I didn't even realise it was missing its PCB until someone mentioned it halfway through the topic, and I've dealt with computers for a long time.

Therefore someone who's a bit new won't have a clue and will end up paying good money for a worthless piece of plastic.

I hope to god ebay stop this.

how can she still claim she doesnt know what it is or if its compleate or not when people from here have msg'd her to tell her its just a shell worth pennies

"They" know what it is and whats missing.
I say "They" because by the replies its clear "They" are no lady.
I have serious doubts "they" are even female.

Maybe i am too old and out of touch but the phraseology used and the stressing that you are abusing a Lady makes me think its actually a man composing the message.

And as far as supposedly posting in good faith and being honest. If that was the case, upon being informed of the facts "She" would have thanked you for the information and taken the posting down.

And one for the conspiracy buffs....

Is it in fact the "boyfriend" abusing her account to sell his crap and get her a bad feedback :P

I agree with all this, and suspected yesterday that a women isnt the seller.

If you look at the feedback of the seller, you can see that things that have been bought in the past, the seller is clearly Male.

I dont know any women who would buy a stihl saw,ps3 call of duty 3 games.

Though i suppose there is a chance they could be a women.:)

So, who is the OP who started this thread, is he the person who is selling this on the bay. He said it was a female friend who is selling the card. I think he came here to advertise this scam but came to the wrong place as he was found out (it took us a while for someone to notice though). Why is this "lady" called Albert on the bay and look at the items "she" has bought recently, not the kind of stuff my gf would.buy, lol.

i think its pretty sad that you lot have turned into the ebay police. CLEARLY she has written she doesnt know, and its sold as seen. if someone wants to risk their cash for that, let them.

It's a piece of ****ing metal with a plastic shroud screwed to it! There is NO way someone could mistake it for a fully functional graphics card. The fact "she" doesn't photo the back of it also points towards a scam. The emails informing them of it being worthless get replies of "You ********, how dare you kill an unborn baby" instead of "Thanks for informing me, I'll take it down/amend the listing" smells more fishy than a Manx Kipper factory.

Not saying that this isn't a scam but I can easily imagine someone not clue'd up about PCs mistaking a cooler for the real thing. They simply wouldn't inspect it the way you or me would as they don't know what to expect.

Someone message him/her and ask for a picture of the back of the card, more specifically the PCB and see what he/she has to say. :)

"strange then that ebay have not done anything "TWICE" , perhaps its cos ive done nothing wrong, what a sad loser you are !!"

I'm really upset now :(

On 30-Aug-11 at 15:27:30 BST, seller added the following information:
ANYONE BIDDING WITH LESS THAN 20 FEEDBACK WILL HAVE THEIR BIDS CANCELLED AND IT WILL BE SOLD TO THE NEXT HIGHEST BIDDER, SORRY BUT RULES ARE RULES!

Haha :D

Definitely a scam, but unfortunately eBay can't do anything as she's stated it as "sold as seen". She has covered herself against any refunds or the like :(

Seems like she was originally clueless but now doesn't care if someone gets scammed. TBH you're as clueless as she if you bid on it without looking at the pics. Reminds me of people paying £100+ for an xbox box:rolleyes:

With any luck the seller will send it without proof of postage to cut postage costs and then the buyer can claim that they never recieved it and get a refund :D. Gaaah, why won't eBay let me contact the bidders and tell them to retract their bids as it's a scam :(.

I'd say it would be fairly easy to miss as "she's" been pretty careful not to show the back or base of the card, even more so if you're not the kind of person that hangs around here.
