Places to visit in Leeds?

Music Ground.

I haven't been for ages (only been once since it moved to Leeds from Doncaster), but it's full of vintage amps, vintage guitars and seriously expensive stuff you don't normally see. Make sure you go to the upstairs bit, as the downstairs is just a run of the mill place where you get strings and the like.

You know like some of you say leeds doesnt have many things for people to say, not much to do, not many attractions...Just out of curiosity what things do other cities in UK have to do? what attractions do they have?

dmpoole story 15,756:

The exact time was when Paul Simon released Me & Julio Down by The Schoolyard.
My Dad worked with a bloke called Fred Wrigley who was a Leeds Scout and he took us up to Leeds where they were playing Liverpool that day.
Before getting to the ground he drove us onto an estate and said he had a surprise.
We knocked on the door and Billy Bremner was standing there and we all sat down for a fish & chip dinner.
When getting to the ground Jack Charlton was outside greeting everybody and Fred asked him to take me in the dressing room to get autographs and I got all the Liverpool autographs as well.
Leeds lost but a day I'll never forget.
And Paul Simon ........? It was a record that Billy Bremner had just bought and played it for us and I bought it when I got back to Stoke.
Sounds BS but every word true

Keep the suggestions coming - Royal Armoury and Industrial Museum look favourite so far.

I envy this :(

After the guitar I bought 4 weeks ago I can't go to another music shop for a long time :D

I envy this :(

And I didn't appreciate it at the time

Thackray Medical Museum
Armley Mills

Might want to check out Otley, market town on the north side of Leeds, would need a car or take a bus to get there; for some daft reason they closed the train station years a go.

Roundhay Park with Tropical World is a very good shout to be honest.

One of the best things about Leeds is how close you are to the countryside, if you have a car you can drive out and see some amazing sights.

I've been in Leeds for 2 days now and it's very nice.
Yesterday we decided to stop at 2 houses where my wife was bought up.
The first was in Dane house Road in Burnley and lets say the community had changed a bit in 50 years.
After coaxing my wife we decided to knock on and was geeted by an elderly Asian lady who we showed a photo of my wife aged 2 standing n he doorstep with the number clearly visible.
She invited us in and showed us around the house.
Next stop was Keighley where she was born 52 years ago so after coaxing again we knocked on the door and showed the woman 2 photos of my wife on the wall and in the front garden.
Once again we were invited in and I ended up giving all their Hotpoint appliances a once over.
Today we spent 4 hours at Thackray Medical Museum and 3.5 hours at the Royal Armoury where a nice assistant leeched onto me and gave me a guided tour - brilliant.
I've been to Thackray 5 times but never got to see it because I was trying to control students.
Funniest thing was a narrowboat made into a U2 sub on the canal outside the Royal Armoury.

If you mean Burley, it's all mostly student housing now I think. A few friends lived there when I was at uni in Leeds (much cheaper than Headingley just up the road :D)

What do you have planned for your 3rd day?

Definitely Burnley and we were told at night it is a no go area for white people.

Tomorrow maybe Bradford Industrial Museum and the media Museum

pff! I spent the whole day looking out of the office window into Clarence Dock (directly opposite Royal Armouries) and never saw this!?
