As some may be aware there was a bit of a furore over the last few days after a couple of leaked copies of the blu ray set got segments posted onto youtube and people saw some of the changes that had been made to the films.

Regardless of the changes, one thing that EVERYONE has agreed on is that the image and audio quality is absolutely stunning. Whether you like the few changes he has made is another matter!

So far we have

Ewoks blinking

Obi-Wan's Krayt Dragon Call (to scare off the sand people)

Jabba the Hut got a new door to his lair

Yodas puppet in EP 1 has been replaced by the CG that was used in Ep2 & 3

And one one that has angered people the most, Vader saying "No.....noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo" while he carries the emperor away.

I've never owned any of the Star Wars series on any format so I'll be picking the set up regardless. A lot of fans on other forums have vented their anger and cancelled pre orders.

The ewoks blinking and the new dragon call I would have never known were different, the door is irrelevant, Yoda looks MUCH better and so that is a great change for me, and the Vader Nooooo..... well I think the first no is probably acceptable, but the second one is just silly. It won't stop my enjoyment of the film.

According to multiple sites, including the NY times, this is not a hoax.

Those aren't real, surely? Do we have an official source?

Those look like some badly done amateur videos, particularly the Ewok blink.

i don't get all the fuss about these changes. They're tiny, almost insignificant things. Take the Ewoks blinking for example, thats good attention to detail, or the new cgi yoda in episode one.

I get the impression it's the in thing to bash any changes to Star Wars nowadays -_-.

I've always thought the original attack on the death star could do with some tweaking, perhaps adding some effects here to enhance the scale.

That is a pretty benderific NOOOOOOOOOO!!

Chances are though, the fans who 'cancelled' their pre-order didn't actually cancel their pre-order...

Don't mind any of the changes except the Darth one, that is a major change and basically turns one of the best scenes into a joke.

This. Vader strugling with his concience and then finally moving behind the emperor and throwning him down the shaft without saying a word was cinema dynamite.

The Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo is just ridiculous, and makes a mockery of the scene.

To be quite honest, i posted in another thread to say the same, i'll just wait until Lucas releases the version of the film that i want. He'll release these tinkered with versions, then release the previously tinkered versions, then the original theatrical release. At some poit one of them will be right for whoever.

I just hope these are wind ups.

I can't remember what the dragon call originally sounded like, but this one is bizarre. As for the Vader business, it's simply not needed. I can only assume it's for terminally stupid people who can't understand the significance of what's going on without everything being explained to them in clear and very simple terms. If so, I despair.

I'm only buying the good films on release anyway, the prequels will be a purchased if I ever find them on the cheap. Though it has to be said by the time Lucas has finished his revisions, will there be a good and bad trilogy any more? :p

(That's my Star Wars rant for the day completed ;))

Obi-Wan's Krayt Dragon Call (to scare off the sand people)

That's the 2nd time he's changed it, he changed the 1st time for the DVD's. Why? there was nothing wrong with the original!

Bit pointless with Vader saying no in EpVI too. :(

Why can't he do something have done something more constructive, like erase Jar Jar Binks from the 1st 3 episodes completely  :p :o

George Lucas... no one takes him seriously anymore, do they?

I've shared this before and i'll share it again.
