Second hand Sapphire 5970 (sold as seen and untested).

i might be barking up the wrong tree here.if am wrong in saying so i am sorry
but on the listing their is nowhere to be seen in writing saying that they know if they have or can find the receipt as the op claims in one of his replies.
now can the op clear this up did he e-mailed,phone,or used two tins with string in the middle the person?

@spike2011 - brilliant, 500,000.00 haha.

I love how much this seller contradicts his/her self, claims to be a clueless female that knows nothing of this graphics card, yet accidentally purchased two copies of the chronicles of riddick blu-ray. I don't want this to come across as sexist or anything, but I don't know too many woman that would buy one copy of that movie, let alone two.

Lol, mine did, one for the DVD one for the BluRay, she said it was for the action but I think it was because of Vin Diesel.

Well I contacted asking for pics a few days ago:

Hi

I have been watching your auction for the 5970 and am interested in making a bid. However would it be possible to take a picture of the "back" of the card (all the pictures currebtly are of the front i.e. red fan up) - could you take a picture of the back (red fan down) and the "bottom" of the card i.e. the one with the green sticker on in your third picture as the one you have is quite blurred. Many thanks.

Unsurprisingly I got no reply

Just reported to Ebay

Message: Item is a case / shell - no working parts ad she knows this as many people have advised her.

And sent anothre message

HI

You havent replied to my last request, but looking at your item in more detail you can clearly see that the "card" is just a shell / housing and there are no actual working parts to it. There is no circuit board, connectors or working parts. Looking at the "clever" angles you have taken the pictures from I strongly suspect this has been intentional and I have reported the item to Ebay.

I dont, for a scond, think they will do anything about it but hopefully it may help in clogging up their inbox and nudging their conscience

btw i just bid on a nice AC unit on the bay from the same seller :) been wanting one for a while and my 2 uncle's lives in Sandwich bay so they can collect for me, il have further info tomorrow afternoon

She says on the Air Conditioning sale Item number: 280730449363 my air conditioning unit as its too big for the house (WE) are going to be moving to.

eBay actually doing anything about this?

nope, ads still up, im assuming they are taking the view that they get no fee if they cancel the listing.. for them its better to let the sale go through and the buyer chargeback via ebay owned paypal which is a drawn out affair and it leaves the ££ in paypal gathering interest for ebay/paypal, the buyer will win the case and get his/her money back eventually

EDIT: maybe you should have added a warning on your listing about empty shells being sold. it would probly mean more peeps would bid on urs :p

Perhaps it's someone who is bidding that doesn't have any intention of paying- just to mess with the seller.

Well I'm going to take the unpaid item hit. I suggest others put in similar stupid bids so that the second chance offers also fail.
