You don't need a license to own a TV. You need a license to watch live television, be it broadcasted OTA, via a Satellite or online. Pre-recorded television ala iplayer, or simply owning a television to use a device such as a DVD player or a video game console do not require a license.
 
it's possibly the best comedy for a long time. Shame tonight's was a repeat, but still funny.
