Second hand Sapphire 5970 (sold as seen and untested).

It's bad enough being (permanently) disabled and classed as vulnerable living on just over £4500 year from the dole with absoultely no chance of having or holding down a job ever, without being called a liar in here. And before anyone is cruel enough to ask how I can afford a PC, new GFX card, new PSU etc, I can't. Nothing I own is truly mine. Everything I own are presents/gifts from my kind family who help me out. Even my PC was bought with the money I got from my dead Aunts will. Can you guess how that makes me feel ?

woe is me? Why do you care what a bunch of internet folks think about you? These lot are pretty ridiculous though, false accusations, spamming the seller, not knowing the truth, but making one up. Stop acting like the internet police.

Its just keeps getting better,if i found a bargin i would not tell anybody i would buy it and sell it on for a profit tbh.

Well we know it's a scam and I'd rather look like the over-obnoxious 'Internet Police' we're being called than have some poor sod pay hundreds of pounds for a piece of plastic screwed to a piece of copper and a blower fan.

I'm a christian and I believe in God and the Bible. I don't preach, but believe that we as people should have a good look at what we say or do before we say or do it. If ever what I need to say or do may have an influence on other people I have a good hard think about it first. Isn't that what people call responsibility ? It isn't my fault if people come to the wrong conclusions through mis-information of any kind. If you are unsure about something then you should ask questions or do some research and try and find an answer. That is all I did. And that is why I care about being falsely accused of things I haven't done.

Then I would have obviously lost my money or got ripped off in this case. A foolish thing considering my circumstances. Don't you agree ?

Even though the evidence against the OP is pretty incriminating (see http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=19991054&postcount=538), all a witch hunt will achieve is a locked thread.

Could it just be that it is now Sunday and Ebay employees are off for the weekend - waiting to see what happens tomorrow, but all the problems posted on these forums regarding Ebay will result in me avoiding it in future.

I find it hard to believe you are a Christian when a while back you were happy to take advantage of a bloke who (if the sellers tale is true), is having his possessions flogged off at bargain prices - effectively stealing.

I'am new here myself on this forum so carry no weight but I think TooCooltorule is telling the truth.
Why would he bother hanging around in this forum if he was into the scam from the start an would not make any sense coming to this forum in the first place the 5970 would have been sold by now for over £250 we should be thanking him for early warning he gave us about the scammer on ebay.

Here we go again ! And EdwardTeach, CaptainRAVE and Coolasmoo, what is that supposed to mean ?

I can't show the Ebay header as the message service here doesn't show the Graphic Ebay header, but this is a text only version of my message to Albertspages reguarding this matter :-

Dear albertspages,

If you still want to try to sell it here, you'll get more people interested if you change the title from 'radeon 5970' to 'HD 5970' and putting it in the 'Computing, PC Components, Graphics, Video & TV Cards' category.

Keep your money safe - never pay for items with cash or instant money transfer services, such as Western Union or MoneyGram. In the past some sellers have exploited these payment methods in order to defraud buyers, so eBay has banned them from the site.

Dear albertspages,

Thanks for letting me know. That was (and still is) an expensive card to buy. Even though the technology in the card is about 2 years old, it is fairly hard to find them brand new (NOW) for less £300-£400. You should get somebody reputable in the PC market to test it for you and give you a report on it's condition. If it works, don't let it go for silly money ! Buy yourself a copy of Micro Mart from WHSmith this Thursday and advertise it for free in their classifieds, saying you'll accept offers. Seriously, don't get ripped off here !

I know of somebody selling this. It belonged to their ex-boyfriend and they don't know if it works or not.

The key word here Varkanoid is OF.
I know of the Queen and Paris Hilton, that doesnt mean there in my phone book or I'm on speaking terms with them though does it???

TooCoolToRule - I don't get it, anonymously defending yourself against anonymous people on an anonymous forum......

If this is annoying you so much just forget the whole thing and re-register under a different name. You don't owe anybody anything and vice versa no one owes you anything, so chill, re-register and let it go.

The one good thing about this is the scam was brought to attention and has the full wrath of the enthusiast community directed towards it, the rest of it is just a bad soap opera.

Who cares who is or is not involved, the OCUK board were clever enough to uncover the scam within a few posts :)

WIN + WIN = EPIC WIN

Yeah, well. It's done, now. I already tried to make the point OLDSKOOL made to Varkanoid, but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Thanks anyway OLDSKOOL, but some people will always wanna be Judge, Jury, and Executioner. I'm surprised no-one has accused me of making up the messages I sent to Albertspages through Ebay. Thanks KelDG, but I have nothing to run away from. This thread will get closed at some point and it will be forgotten about and me with it I hope. I just won't ask for any advice here ever again. Thanks to the few here who stuck up for me in some way and thanks to the few who said quite rightly that I wasn't the seller. May you all find peace in your lives.
