No mention of illegal stuff!!!

Do you help or hinder the torrent sharing scene? There's always someone sharing torrents, even on public trackers where your share ratio isnt monitored and punished when low.

So I was just wondering how many of you out there actually carry on seeding torrents after you've finished downloading, just out of common courtesy under a public tracker.

I'm not one of those friendly seeders, I'll seed until i notice my download has finished, and then usually remove the torrent from my client completely.

A poll would be nice?

Yes I carry on seeding
No I dont
I'm a Newsgroups user
I dont download

Used torrents once, to download an MMO client that had no direct DL. I didn't seed while I was downloading, and once I had it, I deleted the software. So, I'm a dirty leech :p

Torrents are rubbish.

Havent used them since I found out about web hosters such as rapidshare etc, much better.

I've actually never had an issue with torrents, always decent speeds, even on public trackers. Unless ofcourse you're leeching from 2/3 seeders. Which is a limitation of the method I'll admit.

I don't use torrents very often and hate bloat, so just download the client, download file/s, delete client.

On public i'd leave it uploading overnight, and then stop.
on private trackers i'd always get banned because nothing i downloaded needed seeds, so i could never upload anything

Don't torrent a thing though these days.

I think I used torrents once.
Been on Usenet since the 90s when to download a porn pic it had a UUE extension in about 10 parts and you had to compile them and run through a convertor to JPG.

I've always seeded on private trackers, rarely on public.

I don't really use torrents these days unless I have to, mainly newsgroups, fileserve - occasionally irc.

I'm a Usenet user and have been for years, but I still love torrents for some stuff (latest Linux distros mostly - no really!). I have a 100/10 connection so seed until I have at least a 1:1 ratio but often much more. Depends on the d/l tbh.
