NASA in Moon Photshopping shocker

Awesome - I forget they were going to get twice as close as in the first batch of these. Amazing!

But of course you do realise that nothing, not even being taken to the moon themselves to see everything with their own eyes, will convince the paranoid, flag waving woo-woo brigade :).

Besides, whether we went or not, these pics are definately fake - I can see literally dozens of teh pixels.

Space noob question: Why haven't we been back to the moon? Why haven't other countries gone since the septic tanks did?

Because it's bin-dun, Cold War is over and nobody has the political will or finacial muscle anymore. Especially not shackled by today's standards of h&s. Nobody, that is, apart form China. I would bet money on the next man on the moon being Chinese, and by 2020 or so :).

Indeed. I can hear the usual suspects warming up their keyboards to retaliate with nonsense about the shadows looking off and why doesn't the LM engine have a visible flame and why can't you see stars in photos....morons, one and all :D

Too damned expensive, too damned risky, too damned complicated. Apollo won't be repeated or exceeded for a long time yet.

And why bother? What's the point?

Great pictures :) although haven't we been bouncing lasers off mirrors for ages? Granted they could have been put there by probes, but won't they have needed to have been aligned correctly manually?
