This is what consolers playing CS looks like...LOL!

only watched 3/4ths of the video, but aiming would get even worse if you need to target on the vertical (look up/down)

controllers are good for certain things, like assassins creed, or gta car driving. mouse and keyboard are much better for fps, rts and precise movements. its just the limitations of the form factor, and also the quality of controllers could be more progressive and advanced.

Also pc's will stick around, maybe change a lil bit, because a proper keyboard, largeish screen(s), mouse make ergonomic sense.

Tablets for example are at there best for in bed use, or sitting. typing on them is horrible.

I fully support cross platform gaming ....

It will actually convince people that PC gaming reigns supreme over playing on a console :D

I have a PC and a PS3 for gaming. The other night I wanted to play Shogun 2, so I booted it up and there was some problem with the sound cutting out all the time. Anyway, I tried to locate the problem and after checking everythin I decided I needed to find an update for my sound driver.

I went to the Asus site and grabbed the official driver. I then thought that it might be wise to update my graphics driver as it hadn't been done in a while so I did that too.

After installing them I eagerly booted the game back up only to find that the problem with the sound hadn't gone away. I tried it on tropico 3 and then on Just Cause 2 and the problem was also there too. I opened up my PC and reseated all the parts. Asus Xonar DG - checked and blown for dust and reseated as was the 5890 and the 8gb DDR3. Rebooted. Same problem.

I then found out about some unofficial sound card drivers. I tried them and they worked! Hooray! Now I can game (three hours later).
As I started the game it crashed to desktop - again and again. Damn it! So I rolled back my graphics drivers. Same problem.
I must have reseated something wrong.

So I did all that again, making sure to get everything right. Once I was satisfied, I started the PC back up. Same damn problem. So I uninstalled the graphics drivers fully and started again, reinstalling the new ones.

This time it worked. Between doing all that and searching the net for solutions, making tea and banging my head against a wall, four and a half hours had passed.

Yeah, PC gaming rocks.

Actually it does, but it's far from superior because so does my PS3 and so did my 360 (need to get one again - miss my Gears). When I put a game on my PS3, it just works.

Lol thats your own fault. You should be keeping your drivers up to date anyway and then when an issue with a game arises I immdiately google the issue and 9/10 times there is a solution. Maximum time spent solving problem = 30 mins.

Not read most the comments as I suspect they're just elitist console bashing.

The PS3 will support M+K. Regardless of how 1337 some PC players think they are, they're going to get spanked by people playing on a console. The pad support is just there to keep people that want to play casually happy.

As I said, I did search for solutions and some of them were the most convoluted bag of man bits. I don't want to have to set compatibility mode to XP - I mean seriously? A new release and this is one of many solutions?
Tried them all too - they didn't work. Probably made up by some guy cackling at his keyboard as he typed them out.
I also update drivers when the old ones have problems but when the OFFICIAL drivers don't work then there's a problem. You're honestly saying that having to find a driver made by some guy in a basement because Asus can't make drivers is my own fault?
As you say - 9/10 times it's 30 minutes of my life wasted - this was the 1 in 10 when it's 4 hours +.

I enjoy the constant crouching... WRONG MOVE CONSOLER ^^ wan deag.

I have nothing against consoles, but I find it hard to see how cross platform will work with the current console input methods. PC gamers have a huge advantage using a mouse.

I don't care if it's on console or PC...

What is bad is all the popup hints, I hope they can be disabled server side.

AS for the M + K vs pad, can't you see? Valve will nerf the M + K so it acts like a pad.

I'd be amazed if you couldn't turn it off within the game settings, if it doesn't do so automatically after a few games like it always did in the other Valve games.

More likely you'll have separate M+K / pad / move servers like UT3 does. Or you'll be able to lock it with the server settings.

I get a massive feeling the people here crying "bring the cross-platform, gonna pwn some pad noobs!" are going to be in for a big surprise. It's like some people are reading the thread title, watching the video and going "LOL11!!1" without actually reading other posts or looking at any actual information about the game....

Irrelevant, CoD has aim assist, CS does not.

Aim assist, no recoil, names above enemies heads, minimap that often shows enemies with the setting to have it always on despite the UAV.

Blame the game though, not the people.
Console FPS games are simplistic, there's no argument there from me.

Edit + You guys whinging about help pop ups, have you EVER PLAYED A PC GAME IN THE LAST DECADE? Get over yourselves, that's pushing elitism completely.
Can't remember a game where you couldn't turn off tool-tips.
