I was in the local Indian takeaway last night, after phoning ahead my order. As I was waiting for it to be cooked, a 20-something white bloke literally burst into the shop (kicking/pushing open the door) and just went ape. I'll paraphrase below, censoring as much as possible without making it pointless to read:

Idiot: Which one of you ******* was on the phone to me before?

Indian: What's the problem sir?

Idiot: Which one of you ******** did I speak to? I'm gonna knock your ******* heads off your ******* shoulders and smash your ******* faces in you dirty **** ********.

Indian: There's no need for that, what's your problem?

Idiot: I'm gonna burn your ******* shop down you dirty **** rat, you're gonna ******* get it you ****, you'd better make sure you lock up tight tonight 'cos I'll be back and I'm burning the whole place out with you ***** in it.

Indian (calmly): Yes sir, go and get your pals and come back if you wish. This is silly.

Idiot: Eight ******* quid you said I had to pay, EIGHT ******* QUID!!

Indian: Yes sir that's the minimum order.

Idiot: You can go ***** yourselves, I'm gonna knock your head off your ******* shoulders you ********. Six pounds I've paid in a taxi from (place) to get here you ****. Watch your back.

He stormed out and the Indian guys looked a bit shaken but more incredulous than anything. I made sure they were OK and stuck around to chat a bit, and it turns out the guy had tried to order for delivery but the guys had told him that sorry, it's an £8 minimum to cover costs. He'd paid £6 in a taxi to racially abuse them and leave with no food, rather than buy extra bread or something to cover the extra £2.

What. A. Noob. :o:mad: I felt really sorry for the Indian (or Bangladeshi?) lads, they always seem decent and are very polite and friendly. I made a point of shaking their hands and telling them not everyone around here thought like this prize penis, and that they might want to consider CCTV.

Rant over I suppose, but I couldn't believe the venom and pure rage pouring out of the guy. He was very intimidating and definitely on the violent side! I'd feel sorry for him if I wasn't so annoyed by him. Living your life with that much rage and bitterness can't be good for you. It's the first time I've ever witnessed racism and I have to say I felt sick. Not to mention ashamed to be associated with scum like that by sharing a nationality.

In before 'y u mad bro?' and 'cool story' etc. :p Just wanted to unload really. :)

Completely and utterly pointless you could tell he had a few brain cells missing from when he spent £6 on a taxi and probably £6 to get back rather than getting £2 of extra food.

obligatory "cool story, y u mad bro?"

In all seriousness it's scum like him that make my blood boil and actually feel ashamed to be British. There's just no need for it, he was happy to order from them in the first place, so why attack them like that over a few quid...beggars belief...

Agreed. Race is so unimportant but I am ashamed to say that I belong to a race which contains such hateful people.

It is a non issue surely. If they have a minimum order then obviously you have to meet that... to then spend 6 quid just to come down and have a go when he could have put that 6 quid towards his order to get the del blows my mind.

People will never cease to amaze me!

Indeed. The human race has a lot of faults, with plonkers like this being towards the top of the list. The fact he was willing to order food off them if that's how he views them says it all. Moron.

As I said I've never actually witnessed race hate first hand before, and I was sickened. The sooner folk realise we're all just people the better. Kudos to the lads for remaining calm though, I daresay unfortunately due to years of prior experience. :(

I must admit I feel guilty for not stepping in, but awful as it sounds that split second decision making told me that he was probably inebriated, full of hot air, and that being disabled and having a family getting potentially stabbed instead of letting him peter out likely wasn't a good idea! I did report it to the police afterwards though, and might pop around later to make sure they're all OK.

What sort of tard gets a cab somewhere to have a pop at someone like that? Racist or not, that's the sort of idiot who sooner or later is going to spend a large portion of his life in jail.

Especially when, as IcE-ColD pointed out, that means he'd spent £12 on taxis to NOT get any food that night... What a tool!

Who knows what could have happened if you tried to step in, maybe it would have kicked off good and proper and he then went to get his mates. It had nothing to do with you, so you did the right thing.

If you stepped it you could have been stabbed for all we know. The people working there knew how to deal with the situation as they've likely been told what to do or, as disappointed as it makes me, have been subject to such verbal abuse before.

Indeed. That was the conclusion I (reluctantly) came to at the time. Hindsight is always 20/20 but as you say, had I stepped in goodness knows what might have happened. At least everyone's alive to have said hindsight. :o
