9/11; Never forget.

It's pretty simple, this is a thread to mark an anniversary when 2,973 people were murdered. If you feel the need to remind others about other tragic deaths then maybe start a thread on that anniversary otherwise stop de-railing the thread.

Yet it's ok to mention those that died on 7/11 ?

Fine .......RIP 911 and 7/11 victims only

Your quotes from Wikipedia prove my case not yours!! :D

But anyway, this is not the place.

No they don't. You'll note [Need quotation to verify]. Until it's verified, all the other links I posted are correct. I posted wikipedia specifically to point that out because that's clearly were you were pulling your information from. If you are so correct, go and update wikipedia with all the relevant information and sources to back up your claim.

I'm going out for a meal tonight to celebrate 9/11.

My wife forgot to buy me a card - shame on her. I didn't forget - I got her a card and two bunches of flowers.

Bigger disaster's happened which are more greater than this, too much hype over this event. I don't know why so much focus is on this event rather than the tsunami where more people have died.

RIP to those who died and to those who have died since due to the events that unfolded 10 years ago today.

Still can't quite believe what happened that day, it really is just so surreal.

I just gave an example. There are other events which are far worse which have happened in the hands of man which are conceived as inferior to 9/11.

We should remember all events not just this one.

We do remember most events, within a reasonable time frame.

This is one if not the biggest man made event the western countries has experienced and the start of many things.

That's what Remembrance Day is for in this country.
I've been going to the Cenotaph every year since I can remember and all 'War' related events are remembered.
The Americans have never had anything so shocking happen in their country than what happened on 9/11 so let them get on with it.
You have every right to turn your TV off and pay no attention.

Pearl harbour.

Feels wierd that it's been ten years, I remember walking around Curry's with my mum and dad and watching the second plane crash live on a display Tv. There must have been about 50 people packed into the Tv section watching it happen, it was such a surreal moment.
