Hi, I am gob smacked at this.

I have recently won something on Ebay for £4.

Seller was local and listed in P&P collection in person - free.

So I rang him today to get his address to go and pick it up and he said I can drop it off for you. I said well ok if you are sure as I am passing your area in a while anyhow so it would be no problem for me to pick it up. He said no problem he will drop it of for me at mine.

he has just been to mine, I greeted him at the door and gave him the £4 and he then started saying what about a delivery charge?, make it £10 pal.

I said, no, i offered to pick it up and you said no, you were willing to deliver and no mention of delivery charge was mentioned.

He wanted to argue on my drive about it. I said forget it, if you are not letting me have it for £4 I shall take it up with ebay, he kept going on and on about a delivery charge. I was getting ready to remove him from my drive and then in the end he says, ok well do it for £4.

Seriously, I am amazed at some people. What planet are they on.

That's pretty cheeky!

I've had one where I bought a router from a power seller on ebay. I purposefully bought one from a local seller because I needed it that day (and it was cheaper than retail store). He said I could collect and pay in cash, but he wanted me to pay the £6 delivery charge even though I was collecting it. I refused and after many back and forth emails I told him to shove it. A few days later he files a non-paying bidder alert  Scum.

Why do people use eBay anymore?

Because its probably one of the easiest ways to sell

Granted there are other methods to sell items (local buy/sell facebook groups etc) but for certain items it can be a pain trying to sell stuff as no one will want it.

Ebay is probably the most easiest way to sell an item even though it can be a royal pain when it **** up.

yeah 1 bad in every 200,000 aint bad.

bloke sounds like a dick, id have told him to stuff it and got the £4 back.

too many people think the anonimity(sp) of the net extends around them, mostly geeks and ***** :p

All you hear (in GD, anyway) is bad things, especially if you're a seller.

That's because people don't post "Sold an item on ebay today, instant payment, no problems at all". Not very interesting is it? (Not that the problem posts are a great read!).

of course you do nobody posts when things go right only wrong so what do you expect.

I have been using ebay for both buying and selling for years and I have only ever once had one bad experience where I bought a graphics card advertised as new and when it arrived it was clearly used.

Ebay dispute sorted it out with no hassle.

I bought something off ebay on the weekend, getting it delivered to my work address as I have trust issues and don't want to give out my home address :D

i don't get it as he'd have the address any ways so how is this any different? i have the address of everyone I've ever sold items to on ebay, and looking at feedback that's 140 people i know the address of and every item i've sent in post not hand delivered. so?
