***The Official HP TouchPad Thread***

Update on the Cyanogenmod port of Android on the Touchpad:
Wifi is working (more or less) in cm7 from the UI as of this morning thanks to amazing work by dharix who did some creative module source tweaking to put together something that would build against the cm kernel. It works with cm userspace and is checked into the repo.

There are still big issues to be addressed-- lots of ioctl errors in logcat; if you hit the power button to sleep, the wifi won't come back when the rest of the tablet does. Also, some apps crash or freeze the screen, though this could be a problem with the lack of sound locking things up. Signal strength is not being reported correctly either.

There are probably more huge problems to be discovered as not enough of the team has gotten it going. But y'know, it's a start, and the browser is really fast, the twitter client/widget work, mail app, weather app/widget works... needless to say anything involving video/sound does not.

I just don't get it. If some TPs were even shipped with Andriod working, why has there not just been a simple dump (or reverse engineer) of a working Android TP?

Any chance of a picture?

Can't get WebOS Quick Install to detect my Touchpad, and therefore can't load an overclocking kernel, etc. Tried on 2 Windows XP 32 bit machines with Java 7 (both machines were recent builds) and 1 x Windows XP 32 bit with Java 6r27. The navacom service fails to start, which I guess is the problem.

I had similar problems and found that it was related to my browser being open - closed my browser and all worked fine. Give it a try.

Thanks but no difference. I've tried after a reboot too (with no applications running), the service still won't start, and no clues given in Event Viewer.

Have you enabled Developer Mode?
this.

I had the same issue, I thought dev mode was active as I enabled developer mode when I got it. I then updated to 3.02 and somehow by the time I tied to do the preware install it got turned off again :o

It should work fine after its turned on again :)

Has anyone managed to change the wireless index key for connecting to networks? We do not use default key 1 at work and I need to be able to change it. Cannot see any advanced wireless settings :(

Remember to keep the password as it is (blank), not to add one both times.... Otherwise you will have more issues....
