the i5-2500k is better. Also, choice of the latest DX11 GPU's is vague as you list a set price. a 5770 and a 6950 are both DX11 GPU's but a very different cards. I imagine it probably means something in the 6870-6970 range.

480 is a powerful card but a real power hog,so if you are concerned about electric bills then newer technology would be better- I have avoided that card for this very reason.

Are you building the system your self? or are these pre built systems?

The i5 2500k uses a newer technology and socket than the older i7. The socket that the 2500k uses is the one that Intel are going to be using on their next generation of processors (Ivy Bridge).

I use to build parts myself but there isnt much to be saved and its also a lot of hassle considering im also doing up my house at the moment :)

you can get better specs for the same money, z68 mb instead of p67. 128gb ssd instead of 64gb etc.

I can't be bothered to spec it up right now, sure someone else will be happy to oblige or if not I'll do one later.

Maybe there isn't that much to be saved but it gives you unlimited options as to which parts are in your system.

Post up your ideal budget and what you will be using the system for and the helpful people of OCUK will tailor a system to your needs :)

Budget around £950 and intend to use the system for gaming, surfing and some video editing. I thought it would be nice to buy there pre-built system since they are overclocked and very well built :)

check dave's spec, could reduce cost on it if needs be by swapping the 2tb drive for 1tb and maybe the asrock mobo for the pro3 version, without affecting the performance noticeably.

Im no good at overclocking so i think i would be best upgrading to the 6870 and upgrade the SSD to 128GB?

if your talking about the processors the 2500K is pretty easy to overclock, plenty of people around willing to help/guide you, and its part the fun :).

depends what sort of games you play, and how much detail you like, i'd go for the better gfx card over the 128gb drive if you like the detail and play up to date games.
