how much do you pay virginmedia ?

£35 for XXL (50mb BB) well £30 for the first 3 months. I've had it 3 weeks and I'm thinking of cancelling it to add a basic Tivo TV package and renegotiate.
 
Been using less of the internet so downgraded my bb from 30 to 10Mb
So now only have bb and unlimited phone, didn't push for any deals but my
Bill came to £20.50 this month which I'm happy with.

Rarely watch tv and would use on demand services for things I do watch,
Still considering getting tivo though since my area was enabled.

Feel like I'm being mugged off when I see that. How long you been with vm?

I pay £30 a month just for 20mb.

I want phone and a TiVo package. Contract renewal is next month or two so going to press for a good deal.
 
Dunno how you guys managed it, best offer I could get is £28.50 for basic phone & 20 Mb. I listed all the better deals and they even checked them whilst on the phone. In the end just decided to leave and go back to O2.
 
A cautionery tale:
i got a deal last december when i moved into my house. I was told that the discounts applied for the life of the contract (18 months).
I pay (i think), £29.50pcm for telephone and 20mb bb.
I rang a few months ago to ask about the 30mb, they said i'd lose my loyalty discount blah blah....then argued the discount i was given in december was only for 6 months.
So i sent a letter of complaint asking for them to check the voice recordings from that day.
They replied saying it would cost me £10+vat for them to check the voice recording!!!!!

Dirty rottern ******* !!!!

Be careful folks, this IS NOT a racist comment, but beware of what the asian sales staff offer you; whether it's their bad command of the english language or they simply do not understand what they are and are not authorised to offer you, i don't know, but i was blatantly lied to!

(This is our third year with them - have had issues in the past due to service dropping out etc. When getting through on the forum or UK call center I've found them to be VERY helpful.

I called to ask if I could get any money knocked off or upgraded to the 20/30 for no extra cost. I was told that I wouldn't get a better deal or service for my money, no matter which ISP I went for. It wasn't rude but a bit too forceful for my liking).

...kinda fancy Tivo, and would probably stump up +£3/month, but can't sneak the £50 one-off charge past 'da boss' :eek:
 
I don't know how you manage to get prices like this, I had the VIP package and it was initially around £75 but was at £109 towards the end of the contact and they refuse to budge on price. I moved out now so back to ADSL but if it wasn't for the broadband speeds on cable I don't think I would use them again.
 
Yup, pleased with what we have - has taken some negotiation over the years to keep competitive.....most recently was the broadband upgrade to 30Mb from 10Mb. In a nutshell, was going to go for 20Mb as this would have worked out less than £1 more (:eek:) with pricing at the time, and our vast array of loyalty discounts....they promised a SH, then sent a normal one, I called and whinged, threatening to defect to Sky and so on (even though they seemingly don't supply SHubs on <30Mb) and they apoligised for me having been given duff information, and promptly offered me 30Mb for the same price (with SHub, which has turned out to not really be a blessing :p )....on provision I agreed to 12 month minimum term on this new, revised package.
Result :D

Still.....always want more, and I plan to keep badgering away for TiVo without the upfront cost, however my bargaining positioning is reduced as I am only about 5 months into the 12 month term.... (boo !)

im paying about 60 all in for same without V+ HD...
 
Yep, there are a couple of 'retention' discounts on there....can't quite remember what exactly, but I believe around ~£15 in total. Will try to dig out a bill and take a look...
