Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

his level 1 is unsafe on block. you should be able to hit him if he is not doing uppercut or spd, especially he havent got a 3 frame normal.

Adz after cr.hp you can use HK tatsu, carries further to the wall, better damage, better stun.

Cheers mate, I was using medium kick I think. At one point I tried cr.mp into ex tatsu and you can actually block that I think, it doesn't combo does it? I know nothing about Seth but he's fun to use so when I get bored I like to try him now and again against players I know I will beat easily. ;)

Rule of thumb is Hard normals cancel into hard tatsu (and also EX but it's a waste imo), medium into medium and light into light.

Not played Jiji in ages. I have one on my list XpureEvilX or something he is a monster. In my dhalsim prime Jiji was the only sagat who beat me online

The Emperor is very good too

Turns out I need more practice against Zangief players as I have absolutely no idea how to attack him using Akuma. I just stopped doing links altogether cause as soon as I missed one he grabbed me with a spd and it just takes so much life off Akuma, when I did knock him down I had trouble staying on him cause of lariats etc. I had some success zoning but if I was too far away he would lariat past fireballs and if was too close I found out the hard way that ex green hand moves faster than it looks on streams etc.

I think the matchup is about 7-3 in your favour too. :p I also struggle against good Giefs though, Art uses him on 360 and he beats up my Akuma, he should have some tips for you.

you can beat the lariat with a well timed dive kick. i guess for most parts you can stay mid range and fireball (mix air and ground up) until he has meter, or you can bait it out by standing just out side of ex hand range. if he lariats you can walk forward and do s.hk to punish it. if you are getting grab out of your combos and block strings a lot, you can bait his spds by stopping your combo and hold up to jumping upward, then punish with whatever hardest combo that you can do 100%.

and you can pick ultra 2 to stop gief option select against your teleports.

I don't mind playing whenever, it's only going to take me 10 minutes to get to 5 wins; and most of that time will just be on the loading screen.

10 minutes? thats too long. depending on your luck every fight is over within 20-30 seconds, just hope you dont blink when i take you out quick and painlessly.

i will play you on the weekend. honestly i see myself winning something like 5-2, this is a scoreline with the randomness and high damage of this game in mind. my only worry is xfactor comebacks, especially the stupid power and speed boost in level 3. but unless you pick wolverine, zero or random me out with phoenix i should win comfortably because i play much more.

i even tell you my team so you get a idea of what i might do.

i play magneto, wesker, ammy or tron. i usually try to start fast with magneto and kill your character off quickly with a dhc glitch, if that dont work i will force you to come to me with beam spam. if magneto dies early or i have to a bad start, wesker will come in, i would play hit and away and do teleport mix-up with magneto beam and ammy cold star whenever i get a chance. if i get you in the corner, i will neither do more teleports, air throw or jump loop mix ups. if you push block the jump loop, i would do teleport to maintain pressure, if you dont i will do 1 frame command throw. if i get a happy birthday, its pretty much 100% i will xfactor to ensure i kill both characters. the only weakness of my team is ammy, because i am not confident in her and i only start playing her recently, plus her xfactor sucks.

On paper the matchup is 6-4 akuma because of Akuma's zoning potential with his fireballs but that will all go pear shaped if you get predictable, allow yourself to get pushed into the corner, or if you suffer from my main problem in this matchup and get bored of dinking away at 1100 health.

After a sweep, use light demon flip palm OS sweep to beat lariat, do the demonflip slightly later and you can go for a throw. Divekicks will pretty much lose to the 'magic lariat'. (holding down to lower their hurtbox until the last moment and then pressing 3p)

Neutral jumping against gief at point blank range is a nono, at best you will eat a clean magic lariat, at worse you will trade and he will EX greenhand you. Backdash is a slightly safer option but still has its risks, unfortunately this advice is useless but you can't drop combos in this match because it's not only lost damage and followup mixups, it's lost health.. it's twice as bad.

Try and bait ex greenhand by jumping and wiffing a normal, keep the gief on edge about when you're actually gonna throw a fireball
