Orange are quite possibly the worst company, in the world, ever.

See, nothing is ever free :p

my mate fell for the "its free "thing at xmas 4 years ago, he saw an advert for a free box of roses from a catalogue company (worth at best £3-4) so he goes online , setup his account, free chocs order, 8 days they turned up, he looks at the bill, choc = £0.................... delivery £6.95.

we still mock him for his stupidity :)

So we call C/Services, and they tell us that since we have no DD setup, and it was a freebie , its not on their online system and we need to pay it in store.
This isn't true, there will be a record in the system called CSS for the product (dongle+allowance) which will be linked to this account (you), free or not. It's mighty odd billing havn't just refunded it though. It might be a problem with forward billing and you may end up with a refund for that amount automatically due to the bizarre way billing works (forward looking but backwards charging).

If you are willing to use it, twitter gets stuff sorted quickly :)

Well............

I've been with Orange mobile for about 15 years, in Feb 2011 I rolled over my contract and had an upgrade to an iphone 3GS, after a couple of weeks I was told by friends that they were ringing me and it was going straight to voice mail, checked with Ornage and they said no problems in the area must be the handset, as soon as I spoke to Apple they said nope, it's Orange, it's been happening quite often.

So back on the phone to Orange CS, then the iphone team back to CS and back to the iphone team who agreed after speaking with technical services that there were problems with the 3G network, then it was the masts, then it was the demand for coverage. In the end I asked the to cancel the contract as it was pointless paying for a service I don't receive. Several masts in the area had lost all 3G coverage as they were in a state of disrepair, this took Orange until August to resolve and only when I got to speak to a senior manager regarding the problem, he admitted that he had never seen so many user notes on one account before (I did tell him to look at my OcUK account as well :D)

So don't even start to tell me how bad Orange are, utterly ****ing useless imo.

I left Orange several years ago for the worst customer services experience of my life. I'm not going to go into it, but Ofcom would have no doubt fined them if they knew. Glad I'm nowhere near them now :)

A minor customer service and billing blip hardly makes 'Orange are quite possibly the worst company, in the world, ever.'

I got aprox 10 months of free broadband from O2 because i had cancelled the DD at the bank and it didn't update on their system. I rang customer services many times to try to pay but they wouldn't believe me that I hadnt paid because their system showed that the DD was active even though it wasnt. I even got e-mails 'thank you for your payment' even though no money was going out of my account.

So no, O2 are the worst company in the world ever, because their database is an absolute mess. They don't even have central customer records, they have a customer record set per service you take from them. Got mobile and internet? Thats 2 seperate customer detail sets (name, address etc) change one, they have to manually change the other. Lolercopters.

(Whoever manages O2s database system must be laughing all the way to their villa on a hill, in spain, going lololololol)

Always been happy with Orange myself, only had to use customer service for phone insurance which has been the easiest thing I've ever done. Phone broken, phone up, replacement handset arranged for next day with choice of 3 delivery slots and pickup of old handset at same time. Handset model breaks 3 times, which other model of phone would you like?

Be leaving them when my contracts up though as the retention deals are getting worse, last time they told me any decent handset would be £80 regardless. I'll be off to T-mobile for my mates friends and family 50% discount and free handset :)

Yep, Orange are truly awful when it comes down to this side of things. I had a contract with them as a student and due to some circumstances outside of my control, I was unable to pay the bill. I'd already completed my initial 12 month contract without a hitch and was under the impression that I could leave at any time, providing I gave notice - evidently not. Lesson learned on that one.

As I couldn't pay my bill at the time they cut-off my phone - understandable. Stupidly though, I couldn't phone them up to pay it when I did have money again as I had no access to a landline and you couldn't call them through the phone! Through a friends mobile, I called home and explained the situation so my dad (who was also on Orange) so he could call up and speak on my behalf. It was also the address where my phone was registered to. Despite offering to pay the outstanding for me, they refused and passed my account over to a debt-collectors and whacked on a £500 fine for the pleasure.

I obtained myself a PAYG SIM, and I've been using that since.

As a consequence when I finished university, I had to deal with these cretins harassing me on a daily basis. In the end I paid about £65 which was for about three months contract plus admin. After months of refusing to pay the £500, they eventually got the hint and left me alone after trying the empty threats of taking me to court, etc. It severely hurt my credit rating at the time and I've since had to build it back up!

Three years later I've decided to get a new phone and I've stayed well-clear of Orange. Not that it matters as I think I'm not blacklisted with them. Terrible, terrible customer service.

Orange used to have amazing customer service. I left them because it became appalling.

I happened to have both my mobile and broadband with them and both became impossible to cancel and I ended up paying an extra month on both with no service. Surprise surprise, when I mentioned it on here a load of people said the same thing happened to them. Hmmm.

Always been with orange and never had a problem :o

Even managed to talk them into a very good deal on my last contract.

It clearly states in your contract that you can't cancel it unless you are fully paid up. And why did'nt you just speak to the CS with your dads phone or any phone for that matter, seems to me you did'nt make that much of an effort to pay up before it went to collections.

No company is the worst just because you had one bad experience. Grow up. Your certainly should not be paying anything since it's free so discuss this with the manager. Tell them your charging them for the phone bill, petrol to get to the store e.t.c and see hat they say!
