*** Official Dead Island Thread ***

This game is doing me no good!Not enjoyed a game this much for a long long time. Keeping me up till this late does me no favours the next day, turn into a Victor Meldrew when tired :D

Im not fussed with all the graphics mods and that. I have the game on highest settings on my GX660R lappy and its looks brilliant as it is and have not come across any in-game bugs ect.
 
Same here, I had a rocky start with the game but now its running smooth and a couple hours into the gameplay, its so much fun beating up zombies.

Cant wait to try this fists of rage mod tomorrow, awesome video.
 
Where is the cheapest place for this atm? A friend mentioned he got it for £19 and including a DLC, that's a far cry from the £30 'offer' price Steam is currently running :)
 
I tried the fists of rage mod last night after seeing the video - meh. I don't like how you jump rather high - died quite a few times. It's fun for a while but will probably revert back to standard after work.

Plus when you kick the zombies, they just float away making it hard to loot them.

Quick question, would I be able to play co-op with a person currently Level 3? (I'm 25 at the moment)

I've found steam keys for £15, though it requires a russian vpn to activate. Sounds dodgier then it is :D

Random game lobbies are always about 2 chapters behind me :(

I dont mind so much, but still why does it not look for same chapter players?

Yeah I joined a game yesterday, I was level 37, he was level one. I was starting a new game + tho

I one shotted mobs with my kick lol.

People over analyze stuff thats the problem.

All the trailer meant to me was a zombie horror game on a holiday island... didnt think there would be kid zombies, but always thought that would be banned anyway by censors... ie killing kids or as close to as. Also didnt really think about what story it would tell me so no expectations there.

Storys are what you make of them, to me anyway. I dont remember a lot of stuff when playing a game but as long as there feels like there is a point to stuff then im happy. The only problem this game seems to have is that its not a persistant living world... but ive not come across a game like that anyhow.
 
Does this game have a 2nd playthrough like Borderlands did then? i.e better items and monster level scaling?
 
Is there anyway to play this game without connecting to steam? Or can I play it somehow on offline mode? My net is crap and it takes me an age to connect to steam.

This sucks, I would have never of ordered it if I knew it was an online game.

Damn my research skillz >.<
