I'm not one for racism, especially directed abuses but one can't help but wonder if at the spur of a moment when you're frustrated, especially when you're waiting in a queue at an airport and some big shot star is allowed to cut the queue, you'll just blurp out the nastiest thing to get that "big shot's" attention.

I personally think she's just a singer and if she's got her usual security details, she should queue like everyone else unless she gets the same boarding privileges as the first class passenger, then that's a different story.

How would you react when you're in a queue and someone deemed more important gets to go ahead of you just because they're famous/rich/high-profile (non-political security risk e.t.c)?

My reaction would probably be much the same for someone famous/rich/high-profile as it would be for everyone else, I might tut to myself but then go back to reading my book. Me getting riled up because someone fails to understand the concept of queueing doesn't normally achieve anything so I wouldn't bother myself about it much, it's a bit annoying but hardly the end of the world. If people skipping queues is a source of major ire then my only advice is never go to a European ski resort...

To be honest, her statement of "Racial issues in the UK are disgusting" is far worse. She's managed to insult an entire nation!

"It's [the UK] racially decades behind progression because everything is swept under the rug. People don't talk about it."

Nice. I was under the (unresearched) impression that the US was riddled with racism on all sides. If the man really did say something to her that was racist it's definitely wrong of course, but she could have made a complaint to the police and she didn't.

Silly cow. I just found this interesting little tidbit:

However, it should be noted that if the incident had occurred, the man would have been from a non-European Union country as [...] British people would not be in the same immigration queue as US citizens.

I think Kelis needs to revaluate her criticism of Britain in regard to racism in the face of her native countries record on civil rights and treatment of black and ethnic minorities.

So she was abused for queue jumping, if she has a complaint to make then she should make it to the authorities not to the media and to say the UK is decades behind progression shows a distinct ignorance of the historical facts regarding the treatment and rights of minority groups in the UK.

Strong agenda.

This story is all over the place with the usual mindless morons of Twitter agreeing with her. Apprently Boris Johnson has Tweeted:

@Kelis Heard about the treatment you received at a UK airport...I'm appalled & on the case.

Where does it say this? Good ole bbc...

Might not be true, trying to find a proper source. This is apparently what she says:
I took a flight from gatwick (airport) back to spain so for those fact checkers that is approx 2 n a half to 3 hour flight (sic). I landed in spain and that's when fat pink faced british guy who was on the plane with me called me a slave and (told me) to call him sir. It was at passport control.

Other sources say it was after a flight into London. She admits to "Cutting into the queue" and also says that the guy behind the passport control check-in laughed along with the racist man: “The man behind the passport desk laughed, shook his head in agreement I guess, and said ‘kunta kinte’."
