Somewhat mildly annoying day of my life

Hey Lads / Ladies.

So today I parked up outside Greggs to fuel my addiction to overpriced sandwiches at around 10 am. Two minutes later I get back to my car and realise the doors didn't lock when I walked away and my rucksack has been taken from the passenger footwell in the middle of a busy highstreet. A 6 foot 2 inch "Turkish" gent is all the Police and I have to go on at the moment (Hopefully the totalitarian style CCTV coverage in my area will shed some more light).

Long story short,
900 quid Dell XPS 17, 60 quid Swissgear Pegasus bag, Few miscellaneous bits all gone. Don't hold out much for the Police either so all in all a bad day.

Please line up to kill me now!

no-one died. Its a backpack and laptop. Doesnt matter too much, does it. It can be re-bought

If it had 1000s of photos of family and friends then that would be bad

Is there no way you can get in on insurance and say the car locking system is faulty? If you have insurance, and if that's what happened.
Otherwise, I think they might not let you claim because you didn't lock the door?

That sucks but I guess it's something you can learn from. i.e. never leave anything on show and always make sure your car is locked.
Probably not the sympathy you might be looking for though :p

I doubt insurance would pay if the doors weren't locked

Insurance wont go near it. "I thought I locked my car" doesnt fly unfortunately :(

Also I thought deep in the passenger footwell was not "on show" but I was wrong.
