because remember those people who were falsely imprisoned in britian for what was it 15-30 od years then finally let out when it was revealed by DNA later.
unless you maybe said any case that resulted in a death sentence which was later found to be wrong resulted in the prosecutor the jury, the judge and the investigating officers convicted of murder.
I disagree, a state should never have a punishment, that it cant enact immediately, if the person might not be guilty their justice system should enable this to remove the sentence.
I actually find it disgusting you would sentence someone to death, then make them wait twenty two years to finally carry out sentence. I feel that is torture, especially waving a carrot of hope in front of them.
If this case is true, and there is a bit of hearsay evidence and witnesses who have all withdrew their statements, then the state executes the guy, would he not have been better off killed 22 years ago.
As i said i am pro death sentence in certain circumstances, in te same way as i am pro castration in certain sex abuse situations, although others I would apply the death penalty.
Father Brendan Smith/smyth I'd have shot him and been done with it, and plenty more like him, there was no possibility of that being an incorrect or wrong decision, and for the bleeding hearts who would suggest he had a mental illness of compulsion to do such things, I'd say they've missed my point. My way he doean't do it again, ever, to anyone. Better than a million years worth of councelling.
