But did you play on the versions above before you tried getting on the server today?
i.e. on the 1.81 test server FT had running for a few days before.
 
I'm getting the same problem, i join, fall through the floor a few times in some weird unloaded textures, then get kicked.

EDIT: saying that, im now in!

EDIT: no i lie, the textures beneath me loaded but still kicked me

me too, says the following:

Connection Lost

Internal Exception: java.net.socketTimeoutException: Read timed out

EDIT: I was on the test server on monday with no problems

EDIT: It's not something like the server reaching a player limit is it?

I'm getting:
Internal Exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

Similar but not the same, i've just joined the server about 20 times in a row, sometimes it loads the area around me but not far, sometimes it loads nothing and i just stand there falling into nothing ness. I was also playing on the 1.8 test server last night

It's as if it's lagging REALLY badly.

Same here, first loaded it up and I was at my home in 1.7.3. Then I teleported to the /spawn, tried to go through the portal to 1.8 and thats where it all started going wrong.

Now I cant get anywhere! How did you get to 1.8 land?
 
You're right that fixes it, 1.8 land works pefectly, 1.7 land just kicks me off, my computers certainly good enough to cope so i can only assume that it could be my internet connection.

Could an admin move my stuff from 1.7 land to 1.8 land for me if we can't find a fix for this?

1.8 was obviously leaked on purpose with the amount of players mc has now even in beta forums and bug reports would have skyrocketed. This was a very good move by Notch and suspected it was them that leaked it when they did it.

Also for people who having trouble logging in have you tried different option settings not just default texture pack.

looks like snow is fixed :) And that is a new mob
The snowmen are ridiculously suicidal, throwing snowballs at creepers and spiders, annoying them to attack the snowmen. It's funny. :D
Also, they spread snow by walking around. Nice.

Server seems fine (no door bug anymore!), only annoyance is the home plugin really. i.e. you cant make your home private/public/invite people to it.
