Which celebs have you met and how were they?

I dated a girl called Rachel Shelley a long time ago, before she was semi famous.

Most notably I have met and spoken to Charlton Heston and David Cameron.

I also met Prince Charles, and am neighbours with Edward Fox and Terry Pratchett.

I know Richard Dawkins (he is my brothers friend and old university prof) and my wife is more than passing friends with Zara Phillips and all the attendant people you meet that way.

Each and everyone has been a normal and surprisingly down to earth person with the exception of Charlton Heston, who was simply the most impressive person I have yet met.

Not to forget meeting Britney Spears on her Onyx tour thanks to my wife who arranged it.

Waited on Louise Redknapp when I worked in a coffee shop. She's dead short. She's also dead fit. She was lovely. They left my friend a huge tip on A-Level results day.

Lee Evans - nervous, modest, was very enthusiastic about marriage
Kate Lonergan (Maid Marion and Her Merry Men) - took a fancy to my wife
Tim Henman - knob

Glenn McGrath and Michael Slater at Lord's, both very nice.

Jonathan Dimbleby (was friends with his daughter Kitty Dimbleby at university and I went to their house for a party - it was a massive farm house in rural Bath). He was friendly too.

Sat on Tom bakers Knee when he was DR who. Yes I'm that old.

Used to deliver Pizza's to shearer really nice bloke, Lads in the shop used to rib him like mad if he'd had a bad game.

I was also stalked by Neil "razor" ruddock. Used to deliver his Kebabs/Pizza's in Formby Then I moved to swindon and he kept coming into my pub. He was a laugh. Roy Evans aswell.
Dennis wise aswell. A mate of mine used to work with his uncle in chelsea

I met Keith Chegwin about 4 years ago.

I worked in an aquarium, and he came in with his family. He was really nice.

Lemmy from Motorhead - when i was in school i bunked off and went into Liverpool as Motorhead were playing at the university. I took some Hawkwind records to get signed but at that time Lemmy was still not happy with being associated with hawkwind (after beeing sacked in the early seventies). So, imagine a 14/15 year old kid with long hair in a school uniform handing Lemmy a single of Silver Machine and the album Hall of the mountain Grill by Hawkwind. Lemmy Looked at me for about ten seconds with a look of someone who wants to say "**** off i ain't signing that ****" but is also thinking 'he is just a kid in a school uniform' so, he signed them. :D

Why would you tip a supermarket delivery driver, you don't pay him for the goods at the door. How very very odd.

Last year spent 30mins or so talking to Anthea Turner whilst travelling back home, really nice woman :)

Let's see:
Richie from Five, the day they went No1 with 'We Will Rock You'. Seemed ok but clearly was in a rush
Lisa Rogers, seemed just like any other customer, polite.
Not sure of her name, but she plays the ditzy blonde in 'Vicar of Dibley'. Again polite and seemed like an ordinary customer. Her maths wasn't brilliant though. She tried to give me some change to to make what change she'd receive a round figure but kinda messed it up
Steve Claridge came in my shop one time and placed a bet (he was a regular before my time in said shop but not anymore). Sadly for him it lost! Very quiet, iirc didn't say please or thankyou either....

Probably many more but thats what I remember

Worst I have met Jason Leonard thread ever.

Anyway, I have met and known a lot of famous people over the years. The only time I ever got all starstruck was when I met Jason Leonard.

Will Smith. Restaurant in London. Was in the Men's and he came in. Asked me if I knew whether any of the cubicles was available as the doors will all shut. I didn't go all geeky on him and started pushing doors and found two open. 'There you go Mr Smith, have fun in there'. He just laughed.

Ole Gunnar Solskajaer. ex-Girlfriend of mine is involved in a football charity and knows an ex Norwegian national player who gets ex-footballers involved. He invited us for dinner after a ManU game and Ole was there too. He was sitting quite a distance from me and the only words I said to him that night was 'Nice goal against Bayern'. Just smiled and said thanks. Seemed quite shy.

Dec from Ant & Dec. Was at the CPL Final in Wembley this year in hospitality and he was there too. Was standing in line behind me at the buffet. Spoke a few words and he seemed really nice. Tiny guy.

That's about it. I know there's a few more but can't recall now.
