Had my test tuesday morning and failed on observation when reversing round a corner. Re-booked for next month so hopefully won't fail again!

Just wondered how many attempts it took you guys and what your failure was, and if you thought it was fair?

Three times for me unfortunately :(

The second time I apparently did worse than the first (or at least that's what the check sheet said) the third time was 3 days later which I passed without any mistakes at all.

Three times here, failed first for staying in the right hand lane too long after joining a dual carriageway (bearing in mind there were cars on my left).
Cant remember the other, but again it was something really stupid again.

Third time i passed :)

5 :o for me

I kept making really stupid mistakes.

my first test for example i had 1 major and 0 minors. the major was for touching the curb while pull out from a junction.

Took me three tests :(.

  • First one was for speed: The Bristol ring-road is dual-carriageway all the way but alternates from 30/50/70 limits, I just got on it and did the same speed as all the other cars... which just so happened to be 50 in a 30 :D.
  • Second was for a red light: At a set of traffic lights which has a straight ahead and a junction to the right. Straight ahead was green, and there was nothing coming the other way, so I went and turned right into the junction during the straight ahead green rather than waiting for the right junction filter.

Both my own fault... but both things that three years later I'd still do :D.

Passed 2nd time, first time failed because i assumed someone on a dual carriageway would be courteous. Speeding up about to join the carriageway and it was clear apart from 1 car, so when i pulled out infront of them thinking they would move over a lane they just drove up behind and flashed their lights, fail :(

First time 3 minors

Don't believe what people say about those passing second time being better drivers, if they were such good drivers why couldn't they past their test first time.

It was three attempts for me.

1) Instructor was part of the AA using a brand new Ford Fiesta, on day before test switched to a old Renault Clio with a suspect clutch. Not the best for confidence.

2) Using my own car, which was brand new. Suffered slow puncture on way to test centre which made me very nearly late which was not the most calming way to start the test.

I don't recall exactly the faults on the failed attempts I just blame it on circumstances.

Third time lucky, can't remember how many minors but it was a fair few.

First for car, second for bike.

Failed for not making enough progress or was it hesitation. Anyway a lorry flashed me to go. I didn't, had been over the roof of a car the day before(car went through red light). I though it was ridicules seeing as highway code says someone flashing you, is just letting you know they are there.
