Failed my driving test this week... How many attempts did it take you?

I passed both my car test, cat C test and cat C+E 1st time, I had minors in all of them.

I think holding it together when I am really a bag of nerves is an asset.

I was prepared to fail them all, particularly the C+E as it is quite a long test.

:)

I do know excellent (much better then me drivers) who have failed more tests, the ability to pass a test doesn't make you a good driver.

Anyone notice on the road some driving instructors driving worse than most?, you'd expect there to be a learner in the car but nope the instructor.

Passed 1st time. 3 minors.

Minor #1 for going through an amber light, I didn't think I had enough time to stop, the examiner gave me the minor because I didn't look in my rearview mirror to see if anything was behind me before I made the decision.
#2 for stopping with my front wheels turned out slightly when I pulled up at the side of the road, rather than having them parallel to the kerb.
#3 for my car rolling back slightly before I put my handbrake on at the top of a nasty hill junction. Wasn't anyone behind me though, I was on a country lane.

First time. 26 minor faults. Quote from driving tester:

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt but you've passed.

He had a massive go about some of my errors too. That was at the marsh mills testing centre in Plymouth in 1997. That amount of minor faults would be a fail today.

Passed 1st time, 4 minors, even though I concked out on my hill start, then after it the examiner said to me " so I suppose you're not doing anything tonight" As if in to say because you failed you dick!

But then he said I passed when we got back to the test centre. Class! :D

Anybody think that people who've held their license for a certain amount of time should have to do a refresher course or something similar? I see so many bad and dangerous drivers around here and the majority of them are elderly.

Three times here! First time I pulled out in front of an ambulance (apparently this isn't a good thing to do!) second time overtook a bike on a blind corner. Third time passed with no minors and no accidents in 3 years :)

passed first time, i only had to do 1 of my 3 maneuvers as a car pulled into the spot where i was meant to park and too many cars for an emergency stop.

winning!!

First time but I think it was more my acting ability than driving. I told myself that, as I was a pretty nervous, hesitant, unaware driver, I'd have to play the part of a good one. Seemed to work.

First time, two minors - emergency stop under control and observation when carrying out a 3 point turn. That was 15 years ago.
