Pic: Your desk...RIGHT NOW

I can't do without my TV/Monitor combo now.

Love being able to watch football at my desk. Eat all my meals at my desk aswell. I only need a toilet for a seat and I'd never have to move :o

I have a laptop ...two actaully, and I have a media computer connected directly to the tv, which I quite often browse on. But this was a post a picture of your desk thread :p

My point was, just because some people don't have everything pictured in their desk shots, does not mean they don't have such things. Most people's living spaces are rather more than just their desk area.

My desk is used for my main computer, my primary desktop if you like. I have 3 others elsewhere.

I don't really get the point of dual screens?

Unless you use your comp for photo editing/video/CAD/design and want video playing on another?

The average user who browses and games doesn't really need one or am I missing something?

They are a complete waste of time......until you actually have one. Its great having Pokerstars/Napster/Sky Go whatever is your choice on one screen while having a normal window on another.

Dual screens are fantastic, you can have several web pages up at once, or a web page and itunes on the other screen, several games take advantage, at work i can have a word document and some simulations running on another screen, fantastic imho i couldn't live without.

If your watching a film or a stream you can have skype open or something on the other without having to constantly minimize the screen (when I'm watching sc2 events I like to have the chat window up on the 2nd monitor)

Also when gaming in one screen I like to have mediamonkey up on the 2nd screen so I can quickly change songs etc.

Yeah dual screens are immensely useful whether you're a editor or a gamer or a movie watcher. You can have all widgets on the 2nd screen so your CPU usage etc can be monitored while gaming without having to have butt ugly overlay UIs over your game screen itself or if you're browsing the web you can pivot one screen to make reading much better as reading things in portrait is natural compared to reading things in landscape. Ever since Adobe fixed full screen Flash on a 2nd screen iPlayer has been my favourite as I can now watch shows on the 2nd screen while browsing on the first or photo editing or whatever else.

And then there's the multitude of things already mentioned by people above.

I do 3d modelling so having reference images on 2nd monitor is insanely useful. Watching tv while browsing is nice. Having teamspeak or whatever viewable while gaming is good to have. And several other things
