Hmmm got 2 emails, one says thanks for helping to shape the mmo in the testing stage etc but i havent recieved a code? And the other was asking me to preorder! So hve i got access to the beta then? Rather confused!

Yep same spent 5 minutes looking for my invite. Apparently Bioware sent out the emails to people they shouldn't have done. So no beta access but should not affect your chances of Beta access in the future apparently.

Still think we should get it now as compensation

I got an email today saying

"We hope you are enjoying participating in the Game Testing Program and want to thank you for helping shape the most anticipated MMO to date"

But I'm not

The emails are legit SWTOR emails from EA/Bioware but they were sent out to people they shouldn't have been, this offical post on the forum explains:

Earlier today, two e-mails were sent to members of the Star Wars: The Old Republic community. These e-mails were sent to a larger group than intended, and have caused some confusion in the community. We can confirm that these e-mails were from EA and BioWare and apologize for any confusion they have caused. Please note that receiving these e-mails does not affect your chances to be invited to test the game. Thank you all for your understanding!

Loads in our guild got it.. but not me ..think those who got this email will most likely get a beta invite soon as I'm guessing they were supposed to be invites ..but this just a guess, I suppose at the very least you know they have you down for beta. ..well in the list anyway

Yeah I got them too. I was on a break in work at 3am and checked my mail on my phone. Got excited thinking I was in and that I'd be playing on the weekend...
