You may not realize that the reason I call it the Early learning centre phone is because of the nature of it's interfaces which means even a toddler could use it.

Apple are better at generating hype for products and so far they've done quite well out of it.

Engadget is always plastered with phones, no matter which brand it is. It's just that I hate how mainstream media always focuses on Apple products and hardly talk about the alternatives. I heard that one of the major media companies even has a deal with Apple which means that they have to favour them in all of their coverage, can't remember for my life which newspaper it is though.

They're one of if not the largest electronics brand around specialising in quite a small product line so of course they are going to some media attention if they release a product. Their products get updated much slower than any other brand around.

Would you prefer the Beeb announce the iPhone 4s and mention the Galaxy in the article? What would be the point in that? People will have clicked on the article to read about the iPhone.

Also, let me bring up the point you made earlier about calling it a "Early Learning Center" phone, which i'm guessing is a sly dig because of it's simplistic GUI. What's the problem with it being simple and intuitive to use? Why is that a bad thing? Surely making some easy to use and intuitive is a great if not an awesome thing!?

The point of the matter is, the mainstream media covers much more of apple than any other of phone manufacturers. You would never find an android device on the front page and I am willing to bet tomorrows news will be plastered with news about this new product.

I love the way the apple machine works.

People vent about how much they hate apple product. Then
They jump on the bandwagon and buy one

I only have my iPhone4 because work gave me one. Crappy business tool anyway can't even make important calls

only good thing about it is the mobile browsing and email ability but that doesn't make it a good "phone"

Go find for me how many Android devices there are on the market at this point in time and you'll find the answer to your question.

I don't intend on that, I just feel it should be much more balanced.
They should at least cover some of the android phone launches, which hardly ever occurs.

Of course, there are loads but the Apple coverage in the broadsheets is still much higher than the combined coverage of Android. Even though Android is growing quickly and I think it has even has a higher market share than Apple.

From looking at that, it has almost the same features as the SG2..dual core, 8MP camera, 1080P video recording, HSDPA. Expected a lot better than that from Apple, so glad I got my SG2 a few months ago.

Actually we had all that grief twenty years ago with 300 baud modems so personally I'm quite glad to see the back of all that.

Bottom line is

If you have a 3GS it's an good upgrade in terms of design, for iphone4 users it's basically a crap update.

I have both phones on me and liked the change from 3GS to 4, but I cant see 4s being the same

Yup. I saw someone with Apple logos in his sig, calling someone poor for criticising iPhones and making the Apple/BMW analogy and assumed you were a fanboy.
