Quick question.

What card should I get.

The Sapphire HD 6950 2GB DiRT 3 edition or the Sapphire HD 6970 2GB.

The different in benchmarks is minimul but which card would you guys advise me to get.

Many thanks

Flashing is much less likely now. Iirc the Sapphire Toxic 6950 has a 'reasonable' chance of successfully unlocking the extra processing cores. Although the possibility being a potential bonus, personally I'd look at other aspects like warranty, price, cooling, noise etc. Besides, overclocking it would be just effective as the few % difference when flashing anyway. Ok, a flashed and clocked card would be nice, but to put it to perspective, look at the performance gap between the 6950 and 6970. Not much in it, is there? :)

This is exactly what I was looking at. The different is minimal and probably hardly noticable so for that reason I was looking at the 6950

If you can find a 6950 which might flash and meets all the other criteria such as cooling, price etc, then great. On the other hand if you find a cheap 6970..... :D ;)

Well I have found a 6970 for £285 from the place I usually buy from so I would judt get it from there.

the HIS 6950 2GB unlocked fine for me,( IceQ X Turbo 2048MB ) I purchased my first one a couple of weeks ago, and this is unlocked now :).

I was going to order the MSI 6950 on this week only, but wasn't sure if this would unlock fine so decided on another HIS card :D

better to go with what I know, and I know the HIS is fine for unlocking even the latest batch.

When the second one turns up tomorrow hopefully i'll let you know how it goes.
