iPhone 4S - the deal you got

Depends what your looking for! Personally I would need more data than that! But yes if data was enough it's a good deal

Well yeah obviously :) That's more than enough data for me tbh as I use Wifi at work and at home which takes the edge off 3G usage a lot.

Vodafone, and I spend a lot of money. However I'm looking at switching to Three due to coverage at home and in work.

Three do there all you can eat package which I think is £30 a month! Or £35 if it's a rolling contract? Hope I got that right! But again they haven't released tariffs yet!

Perfect for you then and a good deal all in!

I just spent 30 minutes on hold to 3 to be told they don't have prices yet. Fail.

Currently on hold to Vodafone to see what they can do for me, unless it's a blinding offer (which I doubt), I'll be asking for my PAC code.

I'm very tempted by that.

Don't know what the deal is with leaving Orange though - my contract is up on the 20th of this month so I presume they won't give me a PAC code until then? If I order now from Vodafone, can I still give them my PAC code from Orange in a couple of week's time to get my number ported or will they want it at time of order (or soon after)?

I haven't seen any carriers offering the iPhone 4S yet, I thought you could only pre-order it Sim free from Apple today, it's not officially available until the 14th.

I'm very interested in carrier deals too, but I can't find any offers online so looks like I'm sticking with my i4, but 3 are offering an amazing contract at the moment on a sim only plan.

unlimited texts
unlimited internet
3000 3 to 3 minutes
2000 any network minutes

all for £25 a month, so if I cant get a decent i4S deal on Orange, by playing networks off against eachother I'll be jumping ship to 3

I'm very tempted to give GiffGaff a go, I want a sim only deal and my contract with Vodafone is up ~few months.

I got it sim free as I have the past few phones.

So Vodafone and Orange aren't carriers then? Maybe try their websites for prices...

I'm only after unlimited texts / internet and a few minutes. I don't use my iPhone 4 / iPhone 4S for phone calls much :)

Can't decide what to do when my contract is up.

Vodafone need the PAC at the time of ordering otherwise you'll lose the number, same as talk mobile as they use the Vodafone network.

With regards to the Orange thing if your contract is up on the 20th you can ask for the PAC now and they will just charge you upto the 20th (call them to double check there are no other cancellation fees).

One thing I've noticed around the web is that Giff Gaff have a seriously slower 3G connection than most other networks, I assume this is part of the reason why costs are lower.

Just put my O2 iPhone 4 and my mates GiffGaff HTC next to each other here at Uni (Bristol BS16) - no difference in speed. Both ~3.5meg download and ~1.5meg upload.

I think it's geographically and demand bound - i.e., O2 will always get the better priority over their piggy backers.
