People smoking weed whilst driving.

Get the odd whiff of it from cars when walking through town sometimes.

What really made me 'eh?!' was when I was in sixth form and the school **** was dropped off by her boy racer boyfriend in his barried up escort. His mate sat in the passenger seat stoned of his **** smoking the largest spliff I've ever seen at 8AM in the morning.

My mates often think I'm a freak because of my "Over Sensitive" nose. Often I have driven behind cars whilst driving at ordinary speeds and instantly picked up smell of weed coming from a car or two in front. Of course later to be confirmed by pulling up beside them at traffic light seeing the driver sat behind the wheel of the car with a joint sparked up hanging out his mouth. It's incredible the amount of people that do this. I'm suprised you don't hear more about the Police stopping people driving on the road because they got a smell of weed from the car infront in normal moving traffic.

Indeed - seems to be missed, just like people chatting on mobile phones - see it all the time as if it's perfectly normal.

Depends largely on tolerance levels. I know people who smoke all day and 'appear' perfectly normal.

As a non smoker, I imagine I wouldn't even be able to find the car.

Ditto.

It's quite prolific in south London. I remember when I was riding my scoot I used to smell it all the time, usually van drivers. The first time I had an off it was a guy stoned out of his mind who caused it and trashed all the side of my bike. He fled the scene. I should have been faster at pulling him out the car or chasing after him.

Just another one of the reasons I moved out the boroughs, sadly.

My wife is forever telling me that someone we've just walked past on the street is smoking weed. I don't even know what it smells like, so I'm just like "huh?".

Which one was that eh?

I know what you mean, I have been in the same situation, it has to impede you as much as drink right?

Stelly

lol, common sense is so bloody dumb.

I have driven stoned once years ago, I hated it, I was so so paranoid, I felt like I was driving so slowly even though the speedo said 30.

I think all research has shown that its not really a problem at all in comparison to other distractions.

However you said you were paranoid, so it affected your state of mind, and as a result possibly affected your driving? Furthermore, these people are actually smoking WHILST driving - which to me just seems plain ridiculous.

Now that's a sure fire way to ruin you day!

Clearly he had nothing to do that day. I can't wake 'n bake if I have anything more important to do than drink tea.

Sure, it probably made me a better driver as demonstrated no 5th gear. I was far more concious of everything going on. Would I recommend it, no, I don't think people should do it, but to compare it to drink driving as if it is as bad is just silly, id probably put it on par with someone driving who had had a bit too much coffee.

Tiredness, Alcohol, forms of mobile phone usage and poor driving skills are dangerous, I would not put what I experienced personally any where near those things. Maybe some people have much different reactions to smoking the stuff, I know I haven't done in over 3 years now because I stopped enjoying it.

another great consequence of rap music and the 'i don't give a ****' generation
