The image is large so will not embed it, what are the GD's thoughts?

Contains a couple of swear words in the last part as part of the strip, apologies if this breaks any rules.

I read it, will post my thoughts a little later!

No it's not the reality, that's a caricature of strawman feminists that someone has written to say "hey, look at feminists. Aren't they silly?"

The whole thing is just really one side cartoon to be honest. Some could do the same and gear it towards the women just as easy making the man look stupid. It would be better to have a open fair debate then have a oneside cartoon tell it how it is. oh and back to the kitchen women or womyn.

right ok, so the bloke in the cartoon has assumed they're lesbians.

do women really get caught up in womens rights? surely equality is a natural act these days?

though women don't like it if they don't get the attention they want FACT. if i'm interested in a girl but she is not interested in me, i will get the hint and walk a girl will go a little bit silly and take it as a personal hit.

This was my take too.

With that said, I have experience with this type of woman.

I used to see a girl for 18 months who was a really into feminism, went to rallys, womens studies classes at uni, all that jazz.

When it suited her, she wanted to play the strong woman role and would flip if I made any women jokes (very light hearted and were actually funny given the situations used in), but at the flick of a switch she would change her mind temporarily and claim that she was a woman and needed looking after and that I needed to 'be the man', it was an absolute head****.

We were both way too strong minded for one another, it eventually ended, that being one of the main reasons.

It's rather over the top, but I do agree that by segregating themselves against men, some feminists merely worsen the situation.

Aye I went out with girl too who did women's studies at university - literally a whole degree of BS. Still, opened the door to a whole world of windups.

meh, tis a pretty one-sided cartoon strip.

Maybe this was relevant to some real life situation the "artist" experienced, but I've never really had any big problems with extreme feminists.

I don't really see the problem with it either, if somebody's world view is vastly different from my own then I'd have no interest in hanging around with them anyway, let people grind their own axe's and learn that every statement isn't an argument that needs winning and we'd all be just fine.

Maybe that's "the artists" problem.

It's an interesting cartoon, at least up until the last slide. I've done feminism at university, I've written many an essay with a feminist slant and got good marks for it (particularly in my criminology classes) and have done a fair bit of reading (both academic and for pleasure) in my spare time.
You have the militant (I guess radical feminists being the most militant) feminists who believe that they have to always fight the patriarchal system. And there is plenty of literature around to support that such a system exists. However, a lot of it is made up of assumptions that man (or capitalist society, which is a common view) reinforce this for their own gains where that isn't always true.
It's a strange dilemma and when faced with the types of feminist in that cartoon I think it's best not to enter into dialogue with them. They have pinned their colours firmly to the flag pole and any debate isn't likely to succeed.

I'd actually say it's an accurate representation of extreme feminists, until he snaps at the end.

Saying that, I'd in no way suggest that extreme feminists are an accurate or realistic representation of feminists. Extreme feminists make up about .1% of people who classify themselves as feminists...

That obviously can't be true because the male character describes the female characters as "the single greatest enemy that feminism has". The cartoonist therefore cannot possibly be intending the female characters to represent feminism or feminists in general.

Since feminism is inherently sexist and hypocritical except for the extremists who are honestly sexist, we'd be better off if all feminists were like the ones portrayed in this cartoon because they're less effective in the real world.

They have pinned their colours firmly to the flag pole and any debate isn't likely to succeed.

Indeed, they are to what actual mainstream feminism is as a mentally retarded KKK member is to the Christian church.

So that cartoon is ridiculous and redundant. Well done, you made yourself look good by out talking a bunch of idiots who passionately and misguidedly believe in an issue they themselves don't understand (who lets face it, don't really exist outside of mental institutes and online)
