Convince me to buy a Civic Type R (EP3)!

The one I'm picking up on Sunday has T1-R's... are they any good on Civic's? It seemed to handle very well in the greasy conditions we had last weekend!

Noxia, new car sounds nice! Get some pics in here when you get it :D

Taken, the EP3 also looks nice. Gotta try get a few quid off but if it's as mint as he makes out then fair play. I've not seen ONE car which is as honestly immaculate as they say on the phone or email but the one I'm getting is by far the best overall I've seen. They aint brand new cars I guess but still, 5250 I'm paying and that feels such a lot to me so add a grand on and I'd cry lol.

Try adding commuting (i know you work on a farm)
Are you in a relationship?
What did you put as your job title?
What's your annual mileage?
Did you ever have sex with an older woman?

Did you put that you're in a relationship? I think with the Admiral group you can do it over the phone when they clarify all the details (might know a tenner off)
Mileage looks fair, just try the commuting thing, its cheaper for me with Admiral with it on (on ep3's and my mondeo)

I am paying a lot more on the Civic than my Golf, insurance is crap this year.

Pretty much 600 quid fully comp 6 yrs protected ncb, 250 quid excess, all the trimmings and DOC but no breakdown, with Sky. They were the best followed by A-Plan and Flux.

Thing is, I'm 30 now! But it's not too bad, parked on the road in a not so great area...

Add a girl/woman onto it?

My gf drops the insurance about £100 on my S2000 (similar age and ncb to you and i pay £600)

LONG LIST OF JOBS AND PREMIUMS

How did you get that list?

I now own a CTR EP3 :D

I have a slight whine noise more prominent when going through the gears lower down the revs, moreso in 4th. Now a few people from googling have had the same issue but haven't read of anything conclusive... it generally points to the alternator belt/pulley/tensioner area OR "just a normal timing chain noise".

Anyone else had experience of this?

When the car is cold, it feels as though it has a flat spot around 1500rpm, do you reckon new plugs would be worth a shot? Do these things use coilpacks or leads or what, not even really had time to look under the bonnet yet :D

Also, the interior lights, is it me or does only the rear light come on when the doors are opened and the front lights are purely map reading lights? Quirky if so :)

My DC2 had flat spot/misfire low in the rev range in high gear. Honda had put the wrong temperature rating plugs in :(, putting the right ones in fixed it.

Here she is, I know a lot of EP3 owners look down on the FN2 but tbh I prefer it in looks and what it's got inside (as in interior, not engine). A common argument is "it's not as JDM", as it was made in Swindon I'd agree :p

Yeah but the EP3 JDM version was also made in Swindon.

The proper JDM will always remain to be the EK9.

I never knew that. I'm not really into the whole JDM thing, I thought it was something you grew out of.
