****The Official iPhone 4S Accessories Thread****

I've vowed never to buy a bumper ever again after seeing how fast mine deteriorated :( The bumper eventually broke away and it was ruining the silver bezel of my phone - Might have just been unlucky, but I'll never use one again :(

Not sure you were, both my workmates with iPhone 4s had to get their bumpers replaced by apple for the same reason.

I really like the Griffin Reveal Etch, but without the Graphite back, however I can't fine out which just a plain back :(

Etch is the carbon thing, if you search for Griffin Reveal Clear Black, you'll find one with see through back for example.

Where can you get the griffin reveal from? Also do they do new ones for the 4S now they have moved the buttons on the side?

Switcheasy Vulcan doesn't fit the 4S exactly... should i cut it a little?

website does state it fits all iphone 4 models, unless they made a newer revision to the one i have now.

That's rather scary news because manufacturer's site specifically states "Compatible with ALL iPhone 4 (Verizon and AT&T) and iPhone 4S". If it doesn't fit, then perhaps changes to the layout go beyond the expected tolerances and all buyers of "tight fit" cases for 4S should hold their case orders now until manufacturers get it resolved.

Which part doesn't fit? Can you post a pic of the part that doesn't fit?

Yes, that website is what I went on. Unless they made another new revision of the case to be compatible with all. The volume buttons are fine, just less than 1 mm lower down, but still click fine.

It was just the silence switch that didn't fit the hole. I went and cut the plastic by a mm, and all's fine.

Hmm.. i wonder whether it's because manufacturer screwed up, or because they now have updated the model, but all the shops sell older version (although I don't see how, if buttons moved few mm and case has button overlay rather than just a hole). If it's manufacturers fault, they should be forced to replace your non fitting ones with ones that fit.

I take you guys didn't buy yours from manufacturers but UK online shops?

It's because it's now a "world phone" so is based on the Verizon design in the US.

Looks like every manufacturer betting on iPhone 4 compatibility got it completely wrong. As someone said before - anything with "precise fit" for AT&T/European iPhone4 will not work, anything for Verizon/CDMA iPhone4's will work, anything with open hole design should be fine.

Example of AT&T case on 4S (peepz who had to cut holes, could you confirm you had to widen holes towards the top or towards volume buttons like on pic below):

iPhone 4 Verizon design case on 4S (perfect fit):

If you have Incipio or SwitchEasy order pending, I'd say cancel it now, they got compatibility wrong

Switcheasy CapsuleRebel does fit though (at least the one I got direct does - not so sure about the one I sent back to a certain other place - I still have doubts about it).

All manufacturers rely on rumour and guesswork because Apple doesn't release the specs to anyone prior to launch. Hence people betting hard cash on the 'teardrop' 5 that never was. If you want to be really sure, wait a couple of weeks for the manufacturers to get themselves sorted out.

Edit - actually, with the CapsuleRebel there's about 2mm clearance all around the switch, so it's a good fit.
