Hi I will be building a new PC with the Corsair 600t White Case.

I was just wondering what would be best to go for? Is there much of a performance difference between the two?

If I go for the H100 I will have to place the radiator fans on top of the case as they wont fit inside due to motherboard being to close as shown in this pic of someone else's build

But with the H80 there would be no issues so I am just wondering if the performance difference is so small it might be worth me going for the H80?

What do you reckon? Also the top fans will be covered and out of sight with the H100 so I am not worried about that.

The h100 and the h80 are pretty much the same they have the same pump and the rad is thinner on the H100 but twice as long so I don't know for sure if it's anygood at all. Haven't used one yet.

Not a fan of the H80 either always much preferred the H70 less to go wrong.

but there's nothing wrong with having the fans one side and the rad the other.

screws should be long enough and if the 600T top conceals it then it's fine.

Hmm decisions, decisions! I am thinking that the H100 might be better now as I read that the H80 has to push air in from outside so it shouldn't be used as exhaust fan as it would just be pushing hot air from inside case to outside the case creating a warmer radiator.

But with the H100 I would be pushing air from outside the case with two fans and then exhausting the hot air out of the case with the back fan which sounds like it should be cooler for the CPU cooler and also cooler for the case.

You can use the H80 as a exhaust also and depending how good the airflow is in your case it should work cooler like that. I have used my H50 as a exhaust for the last couple of years to great effect. I did upgrade the fans though as the corsair ones seemed rubbish compared to the temp drop It received from upgraded fans.

From the H60/80/100 box:

So about 2-3c of difference. But yeah change the fans, the stock ones at 2500rpm are deafening.

Yeah thats a good point, the H60 and H100 only come as stock with 1 set of fan(s) for either push only or pull only, adding the extra fans would benefit the temps.

But then you have to think, H100 is roughly £100, then if you want to replace the stock fans and add more for P/P, thats nearly £150 all in...

With that case I can only have fans on one side of the radiator anyway with (H100) so I would be buying 2 new fans.

However with the H80 I could do P/P

Don't believe all those benchmarks. I have heard the H100 performs very well with the larger surface with decent fans. I can't find the link now but ppl have been testing and comparing a lot with different fans and cases where I read it on another forum.

From what I've read the H100 performs somewhere in-between high end air coolers (D14/SA) and a custom WC loop.

H80 is on a par, if not a shade better than a D14/SA

My h100 performs really well I think, I use the 2 stock fans and 2 enermax clusters in push/pull, and my 2500k at 4.7 (1.35 volts) never goes above 62c (inc 2 hours of prime 95).

And thats on the fans lowest speed setting as any higher is too loud for me.

That is good!! Have you tried pushing for the magic 5ghz using the H100?

To put it in comparison my h80 with 2 vipers in push pull @ 4.8 1.312v peaks on its hottest core around 70c, but usually idles down towards 68c on package temps. IBT seems to push my temps slightly higher than P95. So I would say the H100 with 4 fans gives you ~5c less than a H80 with 2 fans.

I can't use 4 fans though, can only use 2 with this case so I am a bit puzzled on which to go for :p

Slim line fans push and pull? I would have thought it would be best to go with decent standard fans in just push though if you can't do push and pull with standard size fans.

This pic shows an H100, with 4 fans all inside the 600T:

Just measure it out to check that it wont clash with your motherboard, the rad is 27mm thick and both fans will be 25mm, so measure to see if there is 77mm clearance from top to motherboard.

Edit: on closer inspection the top fans might be outside the case? its hard to tell :/

I have the case you are looking at and the h100 , my temps when idle in a warm room are early 30s, if the room is cold pretty much bang on 30 - 31 , ive not ran prime or anything yet , but my 2700k is on auto-overclock to 4,6ghz at the moment and even after a couple of hours gaming if i jump out to windows my temps are in the 40s still , thats with only the 2 fans and on the outside of the case, hope this helps.
