Nokia N9

Doubt there are going to be many takers on this, since everyone knows MeeGo has no future. Such a shame really, could have been a fantastic phone/OS.

£500 for some software with no future and the value of the device will drop like a stone.

It looks nice but it's simply a waste of money. :(

The fact Nokia are even bothering to release this is bizarre in itself, just get your WP7 device out you numpties.

Not this again. A phone doesn't need a future. Use it for 2 years then get a new one. Simple.

any major flaws will be fixed so there is no worry there. Even though most mobile apps are useless, you'll still have access to current Nokia apps, and potentially android apps (read more on that one).

I've been thinking this, the OS is already Polished from what I can gather and it's shaping up to be a really nice phone, if I had the cash the N9 would be the phone I'd want!

though I really can't believe they're charging £500 for a single core device, I'd rather get the Arc S or the Desire S, much much better performance and £150 cheaper, I don't know what's going through Nokia's head.

Carl Zeiss lens really does make for some fantastic photo/video quality, it's the reason I want the phone!

The problem is people don't want to get invested into something which has no future. You know that if you bought Apps, they would be worthless when you got rid of the phone. Many people stick with Android/iOS/BBos because of the time and money they have spent on Apps for their chosen platform.

I wouldn't want a phone where the apps would be useless when I replaced the phone.

Add to that most apps are useless gimmicks.

Slight strange comment. However in some ways I agree as on my ipad I have downloaded a LOT of apps but after using them initially for the vast majority never use them again.

A good example is facebook - the mobile site is as good as the app - just book mark it and it feels just like an 'app'.

I think the idea that apps are crucial is rather silly, 'problem is the marketing makes the populous believe this.

I think many things should be built as modules into the OS. e.g stopwatch/timer, converter, calculator, PDF viewers, media players, office software, notepads etc..

Apps that actually do something are handy e.g. Runkeeper, Tomtom etc..

Apps that just connect online e.g facebook, bbc news, ebay are just a convenience and not particularly necessary. If the browser is good enough then all of these are redundant

still dont see why you would get this over the nokia n8? its thinner yes, but the N8 offers a lot more and is less than £200 brand new now.

Well, in all fairness, the N8 is pretty slow and poor to use (even on Belle). It feels old and steady, this wouldn't.

It's a lot of phone for £200 but it's not great, unfortunately.

Such a shame its a fantastic phone if they had priced this right it could have been a revival for nokia but its too pricey and too late :(
