Pic: Your desk...RIGHT NOW

No I wouldn't, I have an £800 kitchen table and I have chosen not to cover it up as it looks nice. You spent £400 on a desk then covered it with some cheap protective surface? How about, I don't know, soldering somewhere else...? With all that money you spent on your PC desk you could have bought a cheap collapsable workbench and not worried about spilling solder somewhere expensive.

I got my desk at no cost thanks very much. That doesn't detract from the fact that something like the boogiebug is comfortable to use for both typing and gaming and doesn't make the desk look ugly or anything like that. It also matches in colour to the rest of my other desk surroundings so finishes off my workspace quite nicely.

If you think it it's pointless then fine, don't use one on your desk

Sometimes I think you just post so much negative guff in every thread just to get attention. and you're a grown adult WITH kids?

Guessing said Star Wars 'Stuff' Didn't come cheap?

Although where'd you get it, that Darth Vader head looks like it would make a great headphone stand!

It came free, as it is part of my job. I get packages of stuff like that often - it just gets shoved in a cupboard - but my desk can fill up with the coolest bits. Particulary the r2d2 USB hub and USB light up light sabre - sweet..

The Big Darth Vader head is a Clock. Google has loads.

You too would be using one of you had a £400 desk.

They serve multiple uses from an excellent mousing surface to a tabletop protector from wear when mousing over several years and as a detail work surface (I use mine for soldering on and working on electrical components when I'm in a DIY mood, for example.).

They're also very comfortable supports for your hands and wrists while typing.

Agree with you there on the desk. The abrasion from the mouse going over the surface WILL eventually result in some wear, and for the expense of the desk (since I bought the same one!) I'd rather it lasted as long as possible (aka no unnecessary wear just to show a tiny portion of the overall desk).

Does anyone have any corner desks with dual monitor setup on it? Really want a nice corner desk for when i get my dual monitors and new pc just not sure what one :P
