simple answer... buy a locking fuel cap!

Just realised you said drilled? did they drill into your tank?

Apart from parking elsewhere, there is little you can do.

This has happened more than once to me in my truck, never had fuel stolen from a car (yet!)

Because a locking fuel cap prevents the tank from getting drilled? (or perhaps you did not read the thread?) :p ;)

Got to site this morning to find 6 machines, excavators / rollers / dumpers and a forklift completely drained of fuel over the weekend, not one had been broken all opened with keys and no evidence of break in over the hoarding, how they managed to transport 500ish ltrs of red diesel over a 8ft fence I don't know.

In other news the ***** camp 1/2 a mile away was OK though

Does the government not realise that the rise in fuel costs is the sole reason for the recent increase in thefts? If they lowered fuel to back under £1 the thefts would decrease. No wonder these red diesel gangs are showing up more and more

don't run around with a full tank all the time, not much else you can do.

was it done at your house? cctv maybe?

yeah at house on a shared parking bit at back of house. Running around with any fuel in won't stop it getting drilled though if they are opportunist..... it's the cost of getting it fixed for about (this time) £40 worth of fuel - only reason i had so much is i had a fuel issue to do with the pump i think. At least this replacement of the tank means i can get the pump checked lol....

f£^$^&*^%&%$&**(&97976.... GGGGrrrrrrrrrrrr.... i hate being so livid!

What annoys me most about this situation is that if you set a trap that doused them with fuel and then lit them on fire, as they tried to escape, you would be in the wrong! Why do these ***** ****s not automatically become an item of your personal property as soon as you find them stealing from you?

I'd kill them if i caught them i think as my temper can be vicious and vindictive when pushed but we all know how defending your property ends up...
