fuel stolen

I'd kill them if i caught them i think as my temper can be vicious and vindictive when pushed but we all know how defending your property ends up...

Because killing someone over £40 worth of petrol/repairs is an appropriate response to protecting your property? :p

Why not? They don't care about my desire not to be robbed when they want my stuff, why the hell should I care about their desire not to die when I want to kill them? You're either the kind of person that thinks its ok to harm others for your own gain, or you're not. If you are, then you can't complain when I agree with you.

£40 + the cost of damage, loss of earnings and the hassle in general getting it sorted. I'm of a more 'respectful' nature. Don't do unto others as thou would not have done to him. Or basically don't crap where you eat lol.

I just don't like ******.

Park the car in a bed of stinging nettles.

As for defending your property, personally I think it should be allowed by law. We mostly work pretty hard and sacrifice a lot to get things we want. Someone who isn't prepared to do the graft should not be allowed to just take them from us.

This stealing everything spate is just an inevitable side to:

- Price of scrap metal.
- Price of fuel.
- Weak economy.

You simply cannot stop everything, just hope it doesn't happen to you. I mean how do you practically stop people drilling your fuel out? With the expense involved in protecting yourself, as a private individual it's better to just risk it.

The other depressing thing is that politically these Irish / Romany pikies are just seen as an ethnic minority so everyone in the legal system tippy-toes around them when they get caught.

Got to site this morning to find 6 machines, excavators / rollers / dumpers and a forklift completely drained of fuel over the weekend, not one had been broken all opened with keys and no evidence of break in over the hoarding, how they managed to transport 500ish ltrs of red diesel over a 8ft fence I don't know.

In other news the ***** camp 1/2 a mile away was OK though

I hate gypos and they should all be set on fire and die as far as I'm concerned.

I'm intrigued.

How exactly do they do this?

Do they just approximate or know by memory the size and location of your tank and drill one hole for air and one to let out the fuel?

Jack up car (if necessary)
Locate fuel tank using your eyes
Place container under fuel tank
Drill single hole

Surely you won't need a 'hole for air'? Drill a big hole in the bottom of your next Pepsi can and see if it still pours out :p. Obviously the beer chuggers amongst us will attest to the fact that it comes out even faster if you open the can also, but still, unnecessary I'd have thought.

Could try de badging the car. I know you could look up the car and once the fuel is out you can tell anyway, but it might put off an opertunistic theft if they're not sure what fuel it will be.
