Last time you went to the dentist?

I went for the first time in 5 years earlier this year. I only went as I had broken a tooth and apart from geting that fixed all the rest of my teeth were fine.

I'll be going back to the 6 month recommended visit now though

I went last week for a check up.

I did go for about 15 years of my adult life without visiting the dentists, but when I lost a filling, and another tooth broke due to decay, I ended up in agony with toothache.

Fortunately, a local NHS practice was accepting patients, so called in and signed up. I intend to keep going.

Went for a check up yesterday. He's recommended that I have my top set of Wisdom teeth pulled out (the bottom set were pulled out when I was 20, I'm now 45) as they both need fillings, I can't clean them properly, there's no point in keeping them in, I can't use them & they will cause problems to my other teeth later on. So I'm having the right one removed 1st & the left one in 6 months. (I felt rather ill when I had the bottom set taken out IIRC so one at a time this time round)

Nah, i don't go but i'm proud of my teeth and keep them clean, brushing twice a day minimum and mouthwashing. I don't floss as it seems pointless for me.

I've had no issues in the last 15 years and havent been in about 10.

PS. I don't trust dentists.

Flossing reduces the chance of gingivitis and that other one, periodontal disease i think its called?

It could be every 6 months or a year - I honesetly don't know!

I do make sure I go when called though as about a year ago the dentist noticed a small dark patch on a tooth which was the start of some decay, so was just a minor filling to fix.

Those who don't go to the dentist at all will only notice they have an issue with a tooth when it suddenly starts hurting like hell.

I used to go once every 6 months, but about 3 years ago my dentist actually advised me to only come once a year or if I have problems as my teeth have always been pretty good. Had the same dentist all my life (24 years!) :D

Shocking how many people don't have even semi-regular check ups here and haven't seen a dentist in years. No wonder English people are stereotyped by yanks as having **** teeth.

Does anyone else feel slightly awkward when you have to spit out the mouthwash into the bowl thingy?

And I can go every 6 months for free due to full time education.

Few years ago, with jaw ache, I thought it was my wisdom teeth.

Turns out they will never come through and are safe hidden in my jaw.

My jaw ache was my actual jaw not teeth, which required a trip to the hospital instead.

Dentist said I have geneticly good teeth and I have never had a filling or any issue with them.
