Any one know where to find any special deal websites to Thailand?

Currently looking at Thai Airways which have them at £598 per person which is pretty good but just wondering besides the generic gocompare websites if any one knows a decent air line to fly with ?

I didn't want to stop over in the Middle East or India.

Is £598 a direct flight?

Typically I've always stopped at Dubai with Emirates, quality is top notch. I've heard complaints going the India route, sub-par facilities - but that's only what I've heard.

£600 seems a lot for a 12 hour flight.

really ? assuming it's return then I would say that is about standard

try EVA air, loads better than Thai ( well unless Thai have refitted the planes )

Never paid more than 470 quid for a flight, perhaps I've just been doing well

last 2 years prices have gome mental

I paid 465 for (7hr) flight to Philly recently and that was better than most fares that came up

2009 Melbourne via Malaysia £560, Last year LA £470, this year Miami £399? Seemed ok to me. There was a point this year when for 4-5 months nothing was under £500 even New York but I waited it out and suddenly everyone had a non-stop sale..

Were you flying on Aeroflot?

No, Malaysia Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Atlantic respectively.

If flying to Asia, go with an Asian airline. They tend to be much better than European ones.

Well that's ok but I don't fly cattle class.

Avoid Thai airlines. It's a long flight and you don't even have a tv. It's more like a long haul easy jet. It was hell, with hindsite would have much preferred paying the 30 or so extra and getting on a A380 with emirates or quantas. Actually they may not fly there. 3 of us went to Aus and I saved a pittance compared to the others and the plane from England to Bangkok was awful.

You do - the Thai Long haul fleet has AVOD provided you avoid the 747's. At least that was the case back when I was looking at them 2 years ago.

It's worth checking though as you are right in that a long haul flight without entertainment seriously sucks.

They have great legroom and nice food/service but as you say no personal TVs and the seats are rock hard and knackered
