Theres a video on ******** now of him obviously still alive but bloodied. Looks like they caught him alive then murdered on the back of the truck from the other video.

At least he didn't get water-boarded by Americans though, that would have been awful.

I strongly believe that no matter who the person is or what he has done, such scenes of dead body should never been shown.

I agree with you but you can see why they did it. All the internet armchair intelligence operatives would have convinced themselves that actually, France took him back to Paris and put him up in a Hilton in return for pretending he'd died in return for free oil.

Ive seen the video of him where he is being helped whilst he is standing upright. Looks like he is alive there, thats for sure. Then there is the video of him obviously dead which has been shown on the beeb and is used as a still on their website. Wowzers....

Even if it could reduce bloodshed by proving his death?

Well it would have been ok if they showed him just before being buried but I guess this is wishful thiinking on my part. I did say not to show him like how those rebels were showing; dragging his bloodied body by his collar and tossing it about.

Utter rubbish. *shakes head* No way are the scenes of his torture and graphic display of his dead body on british tv justified...

you honestly think its ok?

While rebels were tossing his body about, I was actually afraid that someone may well have been crazy enough to behead him :(

I haven't seen the footage but I can see why, distasteful as it is, that in this case there is justification in showing the body as it will significantly reduce opposition and save lives.

I can understand this kind of thing appearing on Libyan tv - OK but not blazoned upon UK BBC News.

We all know that things happen in war that are disgusting and nightmarish does that mean we should display it almost triumphantly like a trophy on our screens?

He's dead let it be. :(

We don't need to be insulated from the world.

*whoosh* missed the point. Fair enough.

BBC reckon he's captured and alive, Sky reckon he's dead, and Daily Mail have a picture of a dead body...
The only thing to do is sit back for a few hours and come back to an actual report.
Well it looks like Sky and the Daily Mail were correct on this one.

Do we know yet if he was killed in an Air Attack / evading capture, or whether he was captured alive and then murdered?

It isn't telling you what to think about it, it isn't telling you celebrate it... it's just showing you something that actually happened, you've said you find it disgusting and nightmarish so well done the news for letting you see what happens in the world and be able to come to such conclusions.

I'd rather choose whether or not I see it to make my mind up on it than have some squeamish busy body take it upon themselves to decide for me.

I just can't believe it, a man loved by 95% of the population has been killed by Islamic. A new islamic republic has been created. Who can proclaim "god is great" (allah ahkbar), after beating a man to death?

Interesting view point, religion of peace!

People are missing the point thinking its on grounds of squemishness that i object, thats not it at all. But i'm out of this thread gg :)
